The choir members need $1500, but they have $600.  Therefore, they need $1500-$600=$900 more.

Call a the average amount raised by a member.  We see that 30a >= $900.  Dividing by 30, we find that a >= $30, so the average member must raise at least $30.

Motorola used the normal distribution to determine the probability of defects and the number of defects expected in a production
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

32% probability of a defect.

The expected number of defects for a 1000-unit production run is 320.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Empirical Rule states that, for a normally distributed random variable:

68% of the measures are within 1 standard deviation of the mean.

95% of the measures are within 2 standard deviation of the mean.

99.7% of the measures are within 3 standard deviations of the mean.

In this problem, we have that:

Mean = 10

Standard deviation = 0.15.

Probability of a defect

Weights less than 9.85 oz or greater than 10.15 oz will be classified as defects.

9.85 = 10 - 0.15

10.15 = 10 + 0.15

By the Empirical Rule, 68% of weights are between 9.85 and 10.15, that is, within the limits. 32% are not within the limits.

So there is a 32% probability of a defect.

Expected number of defects for a 1000-unit production run.

E(X) = 0.32*1000 = 320

The expected number of defects for a 1000-unit production run is 320.

A rectangular prism has a length of 4.2 cm, a width of 5.8 cm, and a height of 9.6 cm. A similar prism has a length of 14.7 cm,
grigory [225]

Answer: 3.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Dimensions of larger prism = length of  4.2 cm, a width of 5.8 cm, and a height of 9.6 cm.

Dimensions of smaller prism = length of 14.7 cm, a width of 20.3 cm, and a height of 33.6 cm.

Scale factor = \dfrac{\text{Size of image}}{\text{Size of original figure}}

Since, smaller figure is the original figure and the bigger one is the image.

So, scale factor = \dfrac{14.7}{4.2}=3.5  [Taking lengths

Hence, the factor to produce the corresponding dimensions of the larger prism = 3.5

1. Drake is Bradley's sister.
2. Cursen is Atley's brother
3. Norma and Drake are not related

Drake is a girl (1), but she is not related to Norma(3), So she is Marlene.
1) MARLENE DRAKE

Drake and Bradley are related; Norma is not related to them(3). Norma can either be Atley or Cursen. But, Cursen is Male. So, Norma is NORMA ATLEY

Remaining family names are Bradley and Cursen. Kermit is not a Bradley, so he is KERMIT CURSEN. That leaves LEONARD BRADLEY.
