An electron travelling at 3.7 x 105 m/s has an uncertainty in its velocity of 1.88 x 105 m/s. What is the uncertainty in its pos

ition (in pm)? (Just put the number, don't use scientific notation and decimal point in the final answer) Avogadro's number = 6.022 x 1023, h = 6.626 x 10-34 J.s, c = 3.00 x 108 m/s, me= 9.109 x 10-31 kg

Answer:

The uncertainty in its position is 308 pm

Explanation:

Given;

velocity of electron, v = 3.7 x 10⁵ m/s

uncertainty in velocity of the electron, Δv =   1.88 x 10⁵ m/s

Planck's constant, h = 6.626 x 10⁻³⁴ J.s

mass of electron, m = 9.109 x 10⁻³¹ kg

Using Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, we will determine the uncertainty in the position of the electron.

Δx(mΔv) ≥ h/4π

where;

Δx is uncertainty in position

m is mass of the electron

Δv is uncertainty in velocity of the electron

h is Planck's constant

Δx = \frac{h}{4\pi (mv) }  = \frac{6.626*10^{-34}}{4\pi (9.109*1.88*10^5)} = 3.08*10^{-10} \ m

Δx = 308 x 10⁻¹² m

Δx = 308 pm

Therefore,  the uncertainty in its position is 308 pm

Which of these tasks falls under the responsibility of a forensic scientist?
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer:

Training officers in how to properly collect evidence

Explanation:

Forensic science is an interesting branch of science that involves the use of scientific procedures to solve a crime case. It encompasses collection of physical evidence from the crime scene and analyzing it in a laboratory using scientific means.

A forensic scientist is the individual in charge of performing these scientific procedures. His/her major role is to run the scientific analysis of the physical evidence brought in by the officers, however, he/she can also perform the task of training officers in how to properly collect evidence, in order not to damage the evidence or render it invalid for use.

If 25.0 g of NH₃ and 45.0g of O₂ react in the following reaction, what is the mass in grams of NO that will be formed? 4 NH₃ (g)
Allisa [31]

Answer:

The correct answer would be : 33.8 g

Explanation:

Molar mass of ammonia,

Molar Mass = 1* Molar Mass(N) + 3* Molar Mass (H)

= 1*14.01 + 3*1.008  = 17.034 g/mol

mass(NH3)= 25.0 g  (given)

number of mol of NH3,

n = mass of NH3/molar mass of NH3

=(25.0 g)/(17.034 g/mol)

= 1.468 mol

Now,

Molar mass of O2

= 32 g/mol

mass(O2)= 45.0 g

similar as ammonia

n (O2)=(45.0 g)/(32 g/mol)

= 1.406 mol

Balanced chemical equation is:

4 NH3 + 5 O2 ---> 4 NO + 6 H2O

1.83456 mol of O2 is required  for 1.46765 mol of NH3

by the calculation we have only 1.40625 mol of O2

Thus, the limiting agent will be - O2

now the Molar mass of NO,

= 1*14.01 + 1*16.0

= 30.01 g/mol  (similar formula used for NH3)

Balanced equation :

mol of NO formed = (4/5)* moles of O2

= (4/5)×1.40625  (from above calculation)

= 1.125 mol

mass of NO = number of moles × molar mass

= 1.125*30.01

= 33.8 g

Thus, the correct answer would be : 33.8 g

How many grams o an ointment base must be added to 45 g o clobetasol (T EMOVAT E) ointment, 0.05% w/w, to change its strength to
saw5 [17]

Answer:

Drug calculation

If we have 45g of clobetasol  = 0.05%w/w

Then what mass in g of clobetasol is in 0.03%w/w = 45 x 0.03/0.05 =27g

It means that 27g of clobetasol must be added to change the drug strength to 0.03% w/w
