A study is conducted to investigate whether customer satisfaction is greater among computer companies that offer tech support ve

rsus those that do not offer tech support. A random sample of 50 customers are selected from among those that purchased computers that offer tech support. A separate random sample of 40 customers are selected from among those that purchased computers that do not offer tech support.

Answer:

e. An observational study using a stratified sample.

Step-by-step explanation:

The case above is not an experiment because no treatment is being imposed upon the customers. An experiment involves the introduction of treatments on subjects and studying its effect. Also, the observational study involves using stratified stratified samples which involves selecting samples from two distinct groups with different characteristics.

A company produces precision 1 meter (1000 mm) rulers. the actual distribution of lengths of the rulers produced by this company
pogonyaev

Let X be the length of rulers. X follows Normal distribution with mean μ and standard deviation σ = 0.02. A sample of size n=4 is drawn from population and sample mean m=1000. We have to find 90% confidence interval for population mean μ.

Here population standard deviation is given to us so we will use z confidence interval for mean. It is given as

(Sample mean - Margin of error , Sample mean + Margin of error)

Where margin of error for z confidence interval is

ME = σ \frac{z_{\alpha/2}}{\sqrt{n}}

Where σ = population standard deviation = 0.02

n= sample size =4

z_{\alpha/2} = Critical z score value for given confidence level

We have to find here 90% confidence interval so confidence level c= 0.9

α = 1 -c =1-0.9 = 0.1

z_{\alpha/2} = z_{0.1/2} = z_{0.05}

Here we have to find z score value such that area below it is -z is 0.05 and above z is 0.05

Using excel function to find z score value

=NORM.S.INV(0.05) = -1.645

For calculating confidence interval we consider positive z score value which is 1.645

So the margin of error is

ME = \frac{0.02 * 1.645}{\sqrt{4}}

ME = 0.01645

90% confidence interval for mean is

(Sample mean - ME, Sample mean+ME)

1000- 0.01645, 1000+0.01645

(1000.01645, 999.9836)

Rounding interval upto 3 decimal places

(1000.016, 999.984)

90% confidence interval for population mean is (1000.016, 999.984)

Ramon wants to plant cucumbers and tomatoes in his garden. He has room for
yarga [219]

Answer:

Number of Cucumbers = 12

Number of Tomatoes = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let number of cucumber be c and number of tomatoes be t

Since he has room for 16 plants, we can write:

c + t = 16

He wants to plant 3 times as many cucumbers as tomatoes. We can write:

c = 3t

We can substitute this in 1st equation and solve for t:

c + t = 16

3t + t = 16

4t = 16

t = 16/4 = 4

And c = 3t

c = 3(4) = 12

Number of Cucumbers = 12

Number of Tomatoes = 4

crimeas [40]

Answer:

6° F

Step-by-step explanation:

To get average of 10 days highs, we need to add all and divide by 10.

Average = \frac{84+88+91+92+96+94+89+78+87+81}{10}\\=\frac{880}{10}\\=88

And, the normal high temp is given as 82.

<em>How much higher is 88 than 82??</em>

<em />

It is 88 - 82 = 6°F above

In the rectangular prism below, the length of MR is 8 inches, the length of RS is 9 inches, and the length of ST is 12 inches.
Sever21 [200]
Unfortunately, there's no diagram here!  But the prism is described as "rectangular."  Thus, the volume is simply (length)(width)(height) cubic inches.  Multiply: (8 inches)(9 inches)(12 inches).
