Even though “runs like a girl” would leave an impact, i think “hits like a girl” would be more of an insult. Because men would want to seem strong to others and women are seen as “weak” and fragile.

Answer:

No

Explanation:

By saying "You throw like a girl" as an insult, you are insinuating that a woman is not strong. This means you think think that girls/women are inferior to men. This thought process is harmful to both men and women. The truth is, Women are actually very strong, think of your mom. She gave birth to you. Labor is the most painful experience in the world and many women are able to have multiple children.

Answer:While listening to the podcast, I noticed that the narrator paused before saying certain phrases. For example, he paused before saying "but no women” when he first introduced the idea that women did not have the right to vote. These pauses provided cues for important ideas and emphasized meaning. Because of this, I was able to better understand the important facts about women’s fight for equality during this time.

Read the excerpts from "The Royal House of Thebes" and "The Story of a Warrior Queen."
Svetllana [295]

I believe that the options that best describe the qualities of the tragic heroine in these two passages are:

  • They both show the main character sacrificing her life for her principles.
  • They both show the main character experiencing a downfall and awaiting death.
  • They both show moments in the main characters' experiences that evoke pity.

The tragic heroine trope portrays a female protagonist who ends up suffering terribly due to a fatal flaw in her character.
