Answer: 245

Explanation:

From the question, Audreys free-throw percentage this season is 0.875 and if she makes only 13 of her next 20 free throws, the percentage will drop to 0.860. To calculate the number of free throws Audrey has made this season goes thus:

Audrey's current rate = 0.875

Let us say y out of z should be 0.875

y/z = 0.875 ........ equation i

Therefore,

y+13/z+20 = 0.860 ........ equation ii

Recall that y/z = 0.875

y = 0.875z

Put the value of y into equation ii

y+13/z+20 = 0.860

0.875z + 13/z + 20 = 0.860

Cross multiply

0.875z + 13 = 0.860(z + 20)

0.875z + 13 = 0.860z + 17.2

Collect like terms

0.875z - 0.860z = 17.2 - 13

0.015z = 4.2

z = 4.2/0.015

z = 280

Since y =0.875z

y = 0.875 × 280

y= 245

Therefore, the number of throws Audrey made this season is 245

When using the gzip utility, the option is also known as best compression and results in higher compression ratio?
Liula [17]
When it comes to using gzip, the vital thing that you need to remember is that this tool helps you in making your files smaller by compressing them. File types vary in how well they get compressed.

That's why there are recommendations given as to the best compression option for you to take. Though, it's not a must that that's the one you choose. In fact, you can run a simple gzip command to either get the minimum compression or get the maximum by varying the speed that it's run to compress the file.

Stanley deposits $1,000 into a savings account that pays 1% interest per year. At the end of the first year, he's earned $10 in
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

$1000

$1010

Explanation:

The formula for determining simple interest = principal x time x interest rate

The formula for determining compound interest = future value - amount invested

FV = P (1 + r)^n

FV = Future value

P = Present value

R = interest rate

N = number of years

1000 X 0.01 X 1 = $10

Given the figures in the question, the simple interest each year would be $10 based on $1000

But the compound interest in year 2 = 1000 x (1.01)^2 = 1020.10

1020.10 - 1000 = 20.1

compound interest in year 2 = 20.1 - 10 = 10.1

or

1010 x 0.01 x 1 = 10.1

What should be the price of a common stock paying $3.50 annually in dividends if the growth rate is zero and the discount rate i
katrin [286]

Answer:

$43.75

Explanation:

Dividend discount model with zero growth assumes that the Company shall continue to pay the same amount of dividend in infinity. The formula for calculating price of such stock is

Price = Annual Dividend / Discount rate

Price = $3.5 / 8%

Price = $43.75 / per share
