Three friends recorded the distance from each of their homes to the park using three different units. The distances are shown on

the table.
Clark || 1 whole 3/4 miles
Julio || 2,640 yards
Jim || 17,160 feet

a. Who lives closest to the park? Who lives farthest from the park?

b. Critique Reasoning (lol what does this mean?) Clark says he lives less than half as far from the park as Jim does. Is Clark right? Explain.

A: first you configure yards into feet (1 yard=3ft) so then you multiply 2,640•3 which equals 7,920 (Julio's distance) then you configure miles into feet (1 mile=5280ft) then you divide 5280 by 4 then multiply by 3 (to get 3/4) which is 3,960. So in order from closest to farthest in proximity of their house to the park is
-Clark
-Julio
-Jim

B: It is true because 3,960ft is way less than half of 17, 160ft

Hope this helped! (:

pickupchik [31]

Answer:

The correct option is;

An isosceles triangle

Step-by-step explanation:

The parameters given are;

Line segments XY and ZY are tangents to circle O.

ΔXYZ has points X and Z on the circle.

XY and ZY are tangents that intersect at point Y outside the circle'

Therefore, given the circle has center O, then;

OY ≅ OZ = Radius of circle with center O

∠OXY ≅ ∠OZY = 90°  (The radius line from the circle center to the tangent point is perpendicular)

OY ≅ OY (Reflexive property)

ΔOYX and ΔOYZ are right triangles (Triangle with one angle = 90°

ΔOYX ≅ ΔOYZ (Hypotenuse Leg, HL, rule of congruency)

Therefore;

XY = ZY (Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent CPCTC)

Triangle XYZ is an isosceles triangle (Triangle with two equal sides).

Three orders are placed at a pizza shop. two small pizzas, a liter of soda, and a salad cost $14; one small pizza, a liter of so
mojhsa [17]
To determine the cost of each item, we need to set up equations. From the problem statement, we have three unknowns so we need three equations. We set up equations as follows:

let x cost of small pizzas
     y cost of soda
     z cost of salad

two small pizzas, a liter of soda, and a salad cost $14
2x + y + z = 14

one small pizza, a liter of soda, and three salads cost $15

x + y + 3z = 15

three small pizzas, a liter of soda, and two salads cost $22
3x + y + 2z = 22

Solving for x, y and z, we will have:

x = $ 5
y = $ 1
z = $ 3

A company administers an "aptitude test for managers" to aid in selecting new management trainees. Prior experience suggests tha
RoseWind [281]

Answer:

0.94

Step-by-step explanation:

The question after this basically is:

<em>"If the applicant passes the "aptitude test for managers", what is the probability that the applicant will succeed in the management position?"</em>

<em />

So,

P(successful if hired) = 60% = 0.6 [let it be P(x)]

P(success at passing the test) = 85% = 0.85   [let it be P(y)]

P(successful and pass the test) =  P(x) + P(y) -[P(x)*P(y)]

So,

P(successful and pass the test) = 0.6 + 0.85 - (0.6*0.85) = 0.94 (94%)

76 persons can complete the job in 42 days-in how many days will 56 persons do the same job?
kkurt [141]

We are given that 76 persons can complete the job in 42 days.

We need to find the number of days will 56 persons do the same job.

Let us assume that in x number of days will 56 persons do the same job.

Number of days taken by 1 person to complete same work = 76 × 42 =3192 days.

56 person will take = \frac{3192 }{56} = 57.

<h3>Therefore, 57 days will 56 persons do the same job.</h3>
