Read the passage. The Dust Bowl During the 1930s, extreme drought and high winds made life incredibly difficult in the Great Pla

ins region of the United States. In many areas, rainfall was forty percent less than normal. The soil became extremely dry, and when strong winds blew, they created tremendous dust storms. These so-called “black blizzards” were so thick that they made daylight seem like dusk. During this terrible period, the Great Plains region of the United States was named the “Dust Bowl.” Over the next few years, the drought continued, and the winds created more dust storms. In some places, the drought and high winds lasted for eight years. Many people wondered if the black blizzards would ever end. Which statement about this paragraph’s main idea is true? This paragraph does not express a main idea. This paragraph’s main idea is stated in the topic sentence. There are not enough details to support the main idea. This paragraph’s main idea is implied.

Explore the initial interaction between Titania and Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream. What do we learn about these two charac
faust18 [17]

From the first encounter between Oberon and Titania in “A midsummer night’s dream”, we learned that they are husband and wife, king and queen of the Fairies.  But they have rejected each other. Because they have not laid together they have caused a major shift in nature: harvests rot, rivers floods and the cattle die. “…the spring, the summer/ The childing autumn, angry winter, change/ Their wonted liveries, and the mazed world/ By their increase, now knows not which is which/ And this same progeny of evils comes/ From our debate, from our dissension/ We are their parents and original”.

So, they control nature, they are responsible of the seasonal cycle. In order to make up and stop these catastrophes, Oberon asks her to give him the “little changeling boy” she has taken from India, but Titania refuses since she wants to raise him because his mother, who has died, was a votaress of her order.

Describe the soviet plot as miller presents in his article
svetoff [14.1K]

The Crucible is a playwright written by the Amercian Arthur Miller in 1953. It is a dramatized story of the Salem witch trials. Miller wrote the play as an allegory for McCarthyism, when the United States government persecuted people accused of being communists, on the heels of World War II, which ended in 1945. At this time the United States was becoming increasingly concerned about the rising power of the Soviet Union. They were worried about the Soviet Union's communist ways would infiltrate the United States which led to a significant amount of paranoia within the American government.
