Jeremy is trying to explain why a triangle with side lengths 35, 30, 60 is not a right triangle. His explanation is shown below.

Step 1: 35 squared + 30 squared question mark equals 60 squared Step 2: (35 + 30) squared question mark equals 60 squared Step 3: 65 squared question mark equals 60 squared Step 4: 4,225 not-equals 3,600 Which best describes Jeremy's explanation? Jeremy's explanation is accurate. Jeremy's explanation is inaccurate. He wrote the leg lengths in the incorrect order in step 1. Jeremy's explanation is inaccurate. He incorrectly combined terms in step 2. Jeremy's explanation is inaccurate. He multiplied incorrectly in step 4.

Answer:

He incorrectly combined terms in step 2

Step-by-step explanation:

In Step 2, you can't combine 30² + 35² into (30 + 35)² so the answer is "He incorrectly combined terms in step 2".

Suppose you know the minimum, lower quartile, median, upper quartile, and maximum values for a set of data. Explain how to creat
Irina18 [472]
First, create a scale that includes all the numbers- that being, you can plot both the minimum and maximum values on it.

Next, draw a line of a set height (I tend to use 2 squares in my work) where the median is. Next, draw similar lines, at the same height, for the rest of the values- both quartiles and the maximum values. You can obviously do this in whatever order you like, but that's how I do it.

Next, join up the tops and bottoms of the quartiles, with the median in the middle, and connect the middles of the quartiles to their corresponding minimum or maximum values.

Voila, my friend. You have a box plot.

7 times as much as the sum of 1/3 and 4/5
Vlada [557]
7( \frac{1}{3} + \frac{4}{5} )

=7( \frac{1(5)}{3(5)} + \frac{4(3)}{5(3)} )

=7( \frac{5}{15} + \frac{12}{15} )

=7( \frac{17}{15})

=\frac{7}{1} ( \frac{17}{15})

=\frac{119}{15}

= 7\frac{14}{15} ≈ 7.93

Two parallel lines are crossed by a transversal. Parallel lines x and y are cut by transversal w. On line x where it intersects
oee [108]

Answer:

(A)56.5^\circ

Step-by-step explanation:

From the diagram attached:

Angle 1 and Angle 6 are Co-Interior Angles.

The sum of co-interior angle is 180 degrees.

Therefore:

m\angle 1+ m\angle 6=180^\circ\\\\m\angle 6=123.5^\circ,$ therefore:\\m\angle 1+ 123.5^\circ=180^\circ\\m\angle 1=180^\circ-123.5^\circ\\m\angle 1=56.5^\circ

The measure of angle 1 is therefore 56.5 degrees.

The correct option is A.

Mel moves 50-35=15 feet in 5-2=3 seconds. Descent rate=15/3=5 ft/sec.
Victor moves 60-50=10 feet in 4-1=3 seconds. Descent rate=10/3=3⅓ ft/sec. Mel is faster at 5 ft/sec.
