This year I will have 180 hours free in which I can watch TV or watch movies. Each movie lasts 2 hours, and I'll be able to watc

h each TV show for 20 hours. I have $600; each movie costs $10, and each game costs $40.
(a) If I make 3 new friends every time I get a new video game, and 1 new friend every time I watch a movie, how many movies should I watch this year to maximize the number of new friends I make?
(b) If I instead make 5 new friends every time I get a new video game but I still make 1 friend per movie, then how many movies should I watch this year to maximize the number of new friends I make?
(c) Suppose I want to make as many new friends as possible. What is the smallest whole number of new friends each new video game must give me (assume I make the same number of new friends for each game I buy and that I make 1 friend per movie) in order for it to make sense for me to buy only video games this year?

In a game of cornhole, Sasha tossed a bean bag and it landed at the edge of the hole. The hole can be represented by the equatio
Nitella [24]

In the game of cornhole, when Sasha tossed a bean bag to the edge of the hole, in which the equations of the hole and bean bag's path are x² + y² = 5 and y = 0.5x² + 1.5x - 4, respectively, she could have tossed her bean bag to the points (1, -2) or (2, 1).

To find the points in which she could have tossed her bean bag, we need to intersect the two equations of the function as follows.

<u>The equation for the hole</u>

x^{2} + y^{2} = 5   (1)

<u>The equation for the path of the bean bag</u>

y = 0.5x^{2} + 1.5x - 4    (2)

By entering equation (2) into (1) we have:

x^{2} + (0.5x^{2} + 1.5x - 4)^{2} = 5

x^{2} + 0.25x^{4} + 1.5x^{3} - 4x^{2} + 2.25x^{2} - 12x + 16 = 5

0.25x^{4} + 1.5x^{3} - 0.75x^{2} - 12x + 11 = 0

By solving for <em>x</em>, we have:

x₁ = 1

x₂ = 2

Now, for <em>y</em> we have (eq 2):

  • <u>x₁ = 1</u>

y_{1} = 0.5(1)^{2} + 1.5(1) - 4 = -2

  • <u>x₂ = 2</u>

y_{2} = 0.5(2)^{2} + 1.5(2) - 4 = 1

Therefore, the points are (1, -2) or (2, 1).

True or false a corollary is a statement that can be easily proved using a theorem
sammy [17]

Answer:

The given statement is true.

Step-by-step explanation:

A corollary is a statement that can be easily proved using a theorem. This statement is true.

A corollary is usually defined as some idea formed from something that is already existing or already been proven.

This is the reason it is not difficult to prove as it has already been proven.

We are given with a triangle and three medians. The intersection of the two medians is also given which is (4,5). What is asked is the intersection between another pair of medians. Since the medians of a triangle intersect at the centroid of a triangle, the intersection is also

Deep Blue, a deep sea fishing company, bought a boat for $250,000. After 9 years, Deep Blue plans to sell it for a scrap value o
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

Therefore, we use the  linear depreciation and we get is 17222.22 .

Step-by-step explanation:

From Exercise we have that  is boat  $250,000.

The straight line depreciation for a boat  would be calculated as follows:

Cost  boat is $250,000.

For  $95,000 Deep Blue plans to sell it after 9 years.

We use the formula and we calculate :

(250000-95000)/9=155000/9=17222.22

Therefore, we use the  linear depreciation and we get is 17222.22 .
