I did some fire simulation work recently where a small paper fire (think like half a ream of printer paper) was putting out 4000 watts, or about 5 horsepower. A large roaring campfire is going to be a few multiples of that depending on size, of course.

A student created a ball and stick molecule during the lesson on molecules and atoms. Examine the model shown here. Which statem
Rzqust [24]

A molecular model is a three dimensional representation of a molecule. It shows all the atoms in the molecule.

The statements that can be supported by the information in the model are;

  • The model shows a molecule with 14 atoms
  • The model shows a molecule with two different elements

We can see from the model shown that there are white balls and black balls. Each ball represents an atom of an element.

There are 14 balls in total meaning that there are 14 atoms presents. Each color of balls stands for an element. There are two different colors in the model implying that there are two different kinds of elements in the molecule.

How many grams of water are needed to dissolve 27.8 g of ammonium nitrate NH4NO3 in order to prepare a 0.452 m solution?
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer: 770 g water are needed to dissolve 27.8 g of ammonium nitrate NH_4NO_3 in order to prepare a 0.452 m solution

Explanation:

Molality : It is defined as the number of moles of solute present per kg of solvent

Formula used :

Molality=\frac{n\times 1000}{W_s}

where,

n= moles of solute

Moles of NH_4NO_3=\frac{\text{Given mass}}{\text{Molar mass}}=\frac{27.8g}{80.0g/mol}=0.348moles

W_s = weight of the solvent in g = ?

0.452=\frac{0.348\times 1000}{W_s}

W_s=770g

Thus 770 g water are needed to dissolve 27.8 g of ammonium nitrate NH_4NO_3 in order to prepare a 0.452 m solution

The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO is approximately 630 ft tall. How many U.S. half dollars would be in a stack of the same heigh
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

To equal the height of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, it would take 76810 half dollars.

Explanation:

If the Gateway Arch in St. Louis is 630 feet high, how many half dollars will it take to equal the height if each half dollar is 2.15mm thick?

First, we convert the ft to cm and the cm to mm.

- 1 ft = 30.48 cm

630 ft = 19202.4 cm

- 19202.4 cm = 192024 mm

Now, if a half dollar is 2.15 mm thick, how many half dollars would it take to equal the height of 192024 mm?

1 half dollar = 2.15 mm

X                 = 192024 mm

X = 192024 mm / 2.15 mm

X = 76810 half dollars.

A 0.465 g sample of an unknown compound occupies 245 ml at 298 k and 1.22 atm. what is the molar mass of the unknown compound? a
Solnce55 [7]
We know that PV = nRT is the ideal Gas equation.

P = 1.22 atm.
V = 245 ml = 0.245 L
n = 0.465/M and M=molar mass
R = 8.314 J/Kmol = 0.08206 Latm / K mol
T = 298 K

So, putting in the equation:
1.22 * 245/1000 = 0.465/M * 0.08206 * 298
M =  38.677 g/mol

Which molecule could form a coordinate covalent bond with a proton (h )?
Reil [10]
Molecule is the smallest particle of a compound or an element with similar properties as the element or the compound. Covalent bond (dative bond) is a bond that is formed due to the sharing of electrons between atoms. Coordinate covalent bond is a type of covalent where electrons shared during bond formation comes from one atom. In this case a molecule of H2O would form a coordinate bond with H+ because the oxygen contains a lone pair of electrons forming H3O+.
