5. The demand for good X is estimated to be QXd = 10,000 - 4PX + 5PY + 2M + AX where PX is the price of X, PY is the price of go

od Y, M is income and AX is the amount of advertising on X. Suppose the present price of good X is $50, PY = $100, M = $25,000, and AX = 1,000 units. Determine 1. a. Own price elasticity of demand b. Cross price elasticity of demand c. Income elasticity of demand d. Is good y a complement or a substitute e. Is good is normal or inferior

Answer:

We need to calculate quantity demanded of good X

Qxd = 10,000 − 4PX + 5PY + 2M +
AX

Qxd = 10,000 − 4(50) + 5(100) + 2(25000) + 1000

Qxd  = 10,000 - 200 + 500 + 50000 + 1000

Qxd  = 61,300

a. E(P) = ∆Qx/∆Px * (Px / Qx)

E(P) = - 4 * (50 / 61,300)

{where, ∆Qx/∆Px is the price coefficient = -4}

E(P) = = - 0.003    (The absolute value is 0.003)

Demand is inelastic, because price elasticity is less than 1.

b. CPED = ∆Qx/∆Py * (Py / Qx)

CPED = 5 * (100 / 61,300)

[where, ∆Qx/∆Py is the price coefficient of good Y = 5]

CPED = 0.008

c. IED = ∆Qx/∆M * (M / Qx)

= 2 * (25,000 / 61,300)

[where, ∆Qx/∆M is the income coefficient = 2]

= 0.816

d. Good Y and X is subtitles because CPED is positive.

e. Good X is a normal good because income elasticity is positive.

Peterson Company estimates that overhead costs for the next year will be $6,520,000 for indirect labor and $550,000 for factory
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

b. $50.50 per machine hour.

Explanation:

Overhead costs are defined as the amount that is spent by a business that is not directly contributing to the product. For example overhead can be labour cost, rent, utilities, and insurance.

These do not contribute directly to the product. Direct cost such as are materials contribute directly to the product.

In the case the overhead costs are given as $6,520,000 for indirect labor and $550,000 for factory utilities.

Total overhead= 6,520,000 + 550,000

Total overhead= $7,070,000

Overhead Cost per hour= Total overhead ÷ Total machine hours

Overhead cost per hour= 7,070,000 ÷ 140,000= $50.50

Gomez runs a small pottery firm. He hires one helper at $13,000 per year, pays annual rent of $5,500 for his shop, and spends $2
alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

(a) $35,000

(b) $8,000

Explanation:

(a) Accounting profit:

= Total revenue - Explicit cost

= $75,000 - (wages + Annual rent + Material cost)

= $75,000 - ($13,000 + $5,500 + $21,500)

= $75,000 - $40,000

= $35,000

(b) Economic Profit:

= Total revenue - Explicit costs - Implicit costs

= $75,000 - (wages + Annual rent + Material cost) - (Income from investment + Earnings as a potter + Worth of entrepreneurial talents)

= $75,000 - ($13,000 + $5,500 + $21,500) - ($5,500 + $19,000 + $2,500)

= $75,000 - $40,000 - $27,000

= $8,000

One way to prevent relapse is to recognize and use the tools we have to be active. what are some tools you have gained this seme
Cerrena [4.2K]
Maintaining an active lifestyle requires small but manageable changes in daily life. First of all, awareness is key. How many steps do you normally take? What do your work life and home life look like in terms of movement? Once someone knows what a typical day looks like, they can see where they are weak. Small changes can then be made, such as parking the car further from the store or taking walking breaks when sitting at the office desk for hours each day. Finally, an active lifestyle can be social. Being with friends does not have to revolve around food and drink; rather, friends can be enjoyed while playing leisurely sports (i.e., racquetball, tennis) or walking while conversing.

Simon lost $4,300 gambling this year on a trip to Las Vegas. In addition, he paid $2,650 to his broker for managing his $265,000
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

Assuming Simon’s AGI is $40,000.

Gambling losses are only deductible to the extent of gambling winnings. Thus,Simon cannot deduct any of the $4,300 gambling losses. The $3,160 transportation expenses are also nondeductible as they are deemed to be personal expenses. The $2,650 broker management fees are deductible as investment fees (miscellaneous itemized deductions subject to the 2% AGI floor), and the $1,030 tax return fees are also deductible as miscellaneous itemized deductions subject to the 2% AGI floor.

Thus, $2,650 + $1,030 – (2% x $40,000 AGI) = $2,880 deduction

Answer:

The correct answers are letters "B" and "D".

Explanation:

The global service system of Theo Chocolate provides a great opportunity for some of its staff to get a deeper insight into how the company's different markets work. Operations in different regions include coping with different cultures which also include talking about different people and consumer patterns. Thus, all this information can be collected by the employees who are sent for one year to work in those regions.

Furthermore, chances of diversification chances may appear in spotting the opportunities of Theo Chocolate in foreign markets. The organization must ensure that the members sent for the exchange experience are well trained to get the most out of the global service program.
