Answer:

Ok, we know that the price, per pond of grapes, is $1.99.

Now the function that models the cost of grapes is:

C(x) = $1.99*x

Where x is the number of pounds that you buy.

Here we can assume two things:

1) The grapes are already in bags, so x can be only whole numbers, as x can take only whole numbers, the cost c(x) will be discrete because there are a lot of possible costs that are not accessible.

Then the domain is:

D: {0, 1, 2, 3, 4.....}

And the range is :

R: {0*$1.99. 1*$1.99, 2*$1.99, ...}

2)You can choose any amount of grapes that you want, and then the grapes are weighted when yo pay.  (This has not really sense, but it is fun to analyze the problem in different ways)

Here the weight can take almost any value, because with individual grapes you can have almost any number of pounds.

But the unit that defines the total weight is the weight of a single grape.

Then if you have N grapes (and all of them weight almost the same, let's say M)

The total weight will e N*M

If you add one more grape, the weight is: (N + 1)*M

Then it is still discrete!

As we do not know the mean weight of a grape, we can not find the domain  nor the range in this situation, so the one above is the one that we should consider the correct one.

Hello!

This submarine rose 100 feet (+100) and then descended (-100). Usually in an equation this would cancel out and make 0. Therefore, our answer is 0.

I hope this helps!

In a large population, 76% of the households own microwaves. A simple random sample of 100 households is to be contacted and the
zzz [600]

Answer:

Mean and standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the sample proportions are 76 and 0.0427 respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean for a sample proportion is given by μ = np

n = sample size = 100

p = fraction of the sample proportion that have what is being tested = 76% = 0.76

μ = 0.76 × 100 = 76.

Standard deviation of a sample proportion = σ = √[p(1-p)/n] = √(0.76×0.24/100) = 0.0427

Which algebraic expressions are polynomials? Check all that apply. x2y 2 – 4x3 + 12y – x2 – 16 3.9x3 – 4.1x2 + 7.3
Softa [21]
Polynomials are the expressions that contain two or more algebra terms - constants, variables and their powers of a particular variable. The simple example of a polynomial is 2x^{2} + 3x^{3} + 5x + 2

In the given question,
<span>9x3 – 4.1x2 + 7.3 is the polynomial because it has different powers of same variable x and does not contain any other variable.</span>

irga5000 [103]
SHAPE  A

Shape A can be split into two shapes as shown in the diagram below. One is a rectangle and the other is an isosceles triangle. The dimension of the rectangle is 80×180 but we do not know the base of the triangle.

Area of rectangle = 80×180 = 14400

Base of rectangle can be worked out using the Pythagoras theorem
x= \sqrt{65^{2}- 60^{2} } =25
the base of the triangle = 2×25 = 50

Area of rectangle = 1/2(base)(height) = 0.5×50×60 = 1950

Total area of shape A = 1950 + 14400 = 16350
Tax = 16350÷100 = $163.50
Total perimeter of shape A = 80+80+180+65+65 = 470

SHAPE B

We split shape B into a parallelogram and a trapezium
Area of parallelogram = base × height = 250 × 30 = 7500
Area of trapezium = \frac{a+b}{2}×h =\frac{100+40}{2}×80=5600

Total area = 5600 + 7500 = 13100
Tax = 13100÷100 = $131

Perimeter  = 250+250+35+35+100+40+80 = 790

SHAPE C

Shape C is an isosceles shape which allows us to split side bc into 100÷2=50. The diagram is shown in the third diagram.

Quadrilateral PODY = Quadrilaterla AXPO
Side CY = \sqrt{107^{2}- 100^{2} } =38.1
Side PY = 50+38.1 = 88.1
Side DS = \sqrt{117^{2}- 88.1^{2} }= 77 (rounded to whole number)
Side OP = 100-77=23

Area of PODY = \frac{100+23}{2}*88.1=5418.15
Area of DCY = \frac{1}{2}*38.1*100=1905
Area of DCPO = 5418.15-1905 = 3513.15
Area of ABCD = 3513.15×2 = 7026.3

Tax = 7026.3÷100 = $70.263

Perimeter = 117+117+107+107+100 = 548

SHAPE D

Shape D can be split into a triangle and a trapezium as shown in the fourth diagram below

Area of triangle = \frac{1}{2}*150*300=22500
Area of trapezium = \frac{500+300}{2}*400=160000
Total area = 22500 + 160000 = 182500

Tax = 182500÷100 = $1825

Perimeter = 280+165+406+500+425 = 1776
