Count Dracula wanted to investigate the effect of removing a specific small part of the brain of a vampire bat to eliminate its

insatiable thirst for human blood. He caught ten vampire bats and randomly assigned them to one of two groups. The groups were anesthetized and had holes surgically drilled into their skull. The Count then destroyed an area in the hypothalamus of the experimental bats' brain using a one-half-inch drill bit. The control group bats' brains were left intact. Two weeks later, after the bats had recovered, Dracula offered both groups some fresh human blood. His prediction was confirmed: The experimental bats refused to even taste the blood; whereas, the control bats slurped it up as greedily as before. An unexpected side effect was that the experimental bats no longer hibernated during the day; in fact, they seemed driven to "soak up rays" while the control bats slept. Dracula was elated and he concluded his operation was a success. Then, he arranged for a Transylvanian doctor to perform the same procedure confident that he could be "cured" as a vampire and could return to his "former" less sparkly self (Robert Pattinson). Are the researcher's conclusions warranted (yes/no)? ____________Name the independent variable(s):Name the dependent variable(s):Name the confounded variable(s):What is one method to "unconfound" the experiment?

Which of the following statements best reflects the rights of citizens that are protected by the bill of rights
astra-53 [7]
B) Every Citizen has the right to practice any religion without fear of the government interference. Let's look at the options and see if any of the 1st 10 amendments supports it. A) Every Citizen has the right to vote at the age of 18, regardless of race, gender, or religion. * This one is a slam dunk. Slavery was legal under the original constitution and that was so until the 13th amendment. And then woman's right to vote wasn't permitted until the 19th amendment. And finally the 26th amendment made the voting age 18. So this choice is wrong a lot of ways. B) Every Citizen has the right to practice any religion without fear of the government interference. * This looks good. The 1st amendment allows for freedom of speech and freedom of religion. So this is the correct choice. C) Every citizen has the right to quality healthcare provided by the government. * None of the amendments of the constitution claim this, so it's wrong. D) Every Citizen has the right to refuse a search of his or her home under any circumstances. * Sorry, the 4th amendment prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures. But you can't refuse a search "under any circumstances". So this choice is also wrong.
