Answer:

       A. B) Ms. Schwermer has had to deal with criticism from others.

       B. A) She decides to stop doing television interviews after a negative experience.

Explanation:

Heidemarie Shwermer is known as the woman who did not use money for more than 16 years. She moved from place to place and long term friends and new acquaintances took her in. She also relied on others for clothes and sometimes for food.

She has however faced criticism for her lifestyle such as when she was being interviewed by an Italian television station. The host was so inquisitive and didn't believe her that she put her hand into Ms. Schwermer's briefcase to confirm that indeed she moved without money.

Ms. Schwermer in response, stopped doing television interviews for a while because she said that she could not handle direct criticism. She therefore stopped interviews because she had to deal with criticism from others.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Chapters 1-3): The combination of place, historical time, and social situation that provides
ANEK [815]

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn : The combination of place, historical time, and social situation that provides the general background from the characters and plot of a literary work is the story’s setting. Setting frequently plays a crucial role in determining the atmosphere of a work. Explain the significance of the woods to Huck’s life is given below

Explanation:

1.Chapter 1 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn opens after Huck has moved back in with the Widow Douglas. Huck tells us how, when he returned to the Widow's house, she cried and hugged him but immediately began to try to civilize him again. She also teaches him about religion. ... Huck is bored and fidgety.

2.The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn takes place before the Civil War in the American South. As an “adventure,” Huck's story is a defined by movement. ... After meeting up on Jackson's Island (which really exists!), Huck and Jim set off along the Mississippi River and pass through Illinois, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

3.The primary theme of the novel is the conflict between civilization and "natural life." Huck represents natural life through his freedom of spirit, uncivilized ways, and desire to escape from civilization. He was raised without any rules or discipline and has a strong resistance to anything that might "sivilize" him.

4.In American high schools and colleges, Huck Finn is taught as an important, if controversial, book about race. For some, it is an inspiring story about how blacks and whites work together to find freedom. For others, its use of racial slurs and stereotypes make it unteachable, if not unreadable.

5.The main conflict of Huck Finn is his struggle with his conscience. He has been raised with a certain set of values, and he struggles with those values when he goes against them. For example, when he helps Jim escape to freedom, he has been raised to believe that it's wrong to help a slave escape.

6.The Message in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The main characters in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn provide an insight on the apparent foolishness of society. Each character has a distinct personality that draws out some flaw in society, specifically hypocrisy and gullibility.

7.This reasoning between right and wrong is an example of morality, a theme we see again and again in Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The book, sometimes referred to simply as Huck Finn, is the tale of a young teenaged boy, Huck, and his companion, a black slave named Jim, on their quest for freedom.

Let the assembly begun change into active voice
Nastasia [14]

Explanation:

Active voice is when someone does something while passive voice is when something is being done by someone. Even though these sound different, the same thing is happening in the story; it's just written differently.

Active: "Johnny bit into an apple."

Passive: "The apple was bit into by Johnny."

These are the same action being performed but written differently, see? With active voice, the main subject is at the beginning. With passive the main subject is at the end.

"Let the assembly began" is passive. Let's switch that around to active. We know that the assembly is beginning.

"The assembly is being let to begin!"

There's the answer.

Tedla replied that he just came back from his holiday in Nekemte

Betru asked if he enjoyed it and Tedla replied that he loves Ireland and the people in Nekemte were so friendly.

Betra then asked if he went to Shambu and Tedla replied that it was his first trip. He said he could show Betra some pictures tomorrow if he was free.

Betru replied that he would arrange some things tomorrow but he was free tonight.

Tedla suggested he comes to his place and asked what time they should meet.

Betru said he would be there by eight and asked if it was alright?

Explanation:

Direct speech means reporting a speech by repeating the words of the speaker verbatim.

Indirect speech is expressing the words of a speaker without explicitly quoting or repeating the words.

Some simple steps in changing direct speech to indirect speech are:

  • Remove all inverted commas or quotation marks.
  • Finish the sentence with a period.
  • Change the verbs in the inverted commas to the corresponding tense.

Editor: Now that it has been definitely established that nonsmokers have the right to tell smokers not to pollute their air, it
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

Yes, it's correct

Explanation:

The nonsmokers have the right to tell smokers not to pollute their air, it follows that people who don’t own cars have the right to tell car owners not to drive, because the air from smokers (tobaco, etc.) can create bad impacts on others' health and if the car owners do not know how to drive and still drive their cars carelessly, it will cause the traffic accidents. So, you do not need to own any cars to have the right to tell car owners not to drive.
