The amount of simple interest accrued on a sum of money varies jointly with the amount of money, the interest rate, and the time

the money is invested. A sum of money is invested at 4% for 3 years and accrues $168 in interest. The same sum of money is invested in a second account at 6% for 4 years. Which statement is true?
A. The amount of interest accrued on the second account is less than double the amount of interest accrued on the first account.
B. The amount of interest accrued on the second account is double the amount of interest accrued on the first account.
C. The amount of interest accrued on the second account is more than double but less than triple the interest on the first account.
D. The amount of interest accrued on the second account is more than triple the interest accrued on the first account.

Find the amount of the first one
P=168/0.04*3
P=1400
Use the in the second one to find the interest
I=1400*0.06*4
I=336
336 is double the amount of 168
So the answer is B

Answer:

Option (B) is correct i.e the amount of interest accrued on the second account is double the amount of interest accrued on the first account.

Step-by-step explanation:

As given

The amount of simple interest accrued on a sum of money varies jointly with the amount of money, the interest rate, and the time the money is invested.

Thus

Formula for simple interest .

Simple\ interest = \frac{Principle\times Rate\times Time }{100}

As given

A sum of money is invested at 4% for 3 years and accrues $168 in interest.

Put in the above

168 = \frac{Principle\times 4\times 3}{100}

Principle = \frac{16800}{12}

Principle = $1400

As given

The same sum of money is invested in a second account at 6% for 4 years.

Put in the formula

Simple\ interest = \frac{1400\times 6\times 4}{100}

Simple\ interest = \frac{33600}{100}

Simple interest = $336

Thus Option (B) is correct i.e the amount of interest accrued on the second account is double the amount of interest accrued on the first account.

The correct option is (a) <span>y=0.47x+ 7.72
</span>
Explanation:
The two points given are:
(21, 17.5) and (43, 27.75)

First you need to find the slope:
Slope = (27.75-17.5)/(43-21) = 0.466

Now equation of line passing through the point (21, 17.5) and having slope 0.466 is:

y - 17.5 = 0.466(x - 21)
y - 17.5 = 0.466x - 9.78
y = 0.47x + 7.72

An analyst wants to include the level of education to a regression model. The level of education has 4 possible values: HS, BS,
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

Three.

Step-by-step explanation:

An analyst wants to include Level of Education in a regression model.

Level of Education has 4 possible values - HS, BS, MS, PHD

How many dummy variables must the analyst add to the regression model, in order to account for the variable LEVEL OF EDUCATION?

Since LOE has 4 possible values, (4 - 1 = 3) dummy variables will be added to the regression model.

If the dummy letter is M for instance, and 1 represents the presence of a particular LOE and 0 represents the absence of that LOE;

M1 = 1 when LOE is HS   but =0 when LOE is otherwise

M2 = 1 when LOE is BS   but =0 when LOE is otherwise

M3 = 1 when LOE is MS   but  =0 when LOE is otherwise

So, when M1, M2, M3 are equal to 0, the PHD value is represented.

Which expression is equivalent to sin7pi/6?
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

For this case we must find an expression equivalent to:

Sin (\frac {7 \pi} {6})

According to the unit circle, \frac {7 \pi} {6} is in the third quadrant and equals 210 degrees.

Then, we must find an expression equivalent to:

Sin (210) = - \frac {1} {2} = - 0.5

We have to:

\frac{11 \pi} {6}

It is in the fourth quadrant and is equivalent to 330 degrees, according to the unit circle.

Sin (330) = - \frac {1} {2} = - 0.5

Option D
