Answer: The speed that they planed to go, was 4 km/h.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let tourists planned to go at the speed of x km/h,

After increasing the speed by 0.5 km/h,

Their new speed = ( x + 0.5 ) km/h,

Total distance = 18 km,

According to the question,

The time taken at the speed of x - time taken at the speed of (x+0.5) = 1/2 hours,

\implies \frac{18}{x}-\frac{18}{x+0.5}=\frac{1}{2}

( Because, Time = distance / speed ),

\frac{18(x+0.5)-18x}{x^2+0.5x}=\frac{1}{2}

\frac{9}{x^2+0.5x}=\frac{1}{2}

18 = x^2+0.5x

180 = 10x^2 + 5x

10x^2+5x-180=0

5x^2+x-36=0

2x^2 + 9x - 8x - 36 = 0

x(2x + 9) - 4(2x + 9) = 0

(x - 4)(2x + 9) = 0

⇒ x - 4 = 0 or 2x + 9 = 0

x = 4 or 2x = -9

x = 4 or x = -9/2 = -4.5 (not possible)

Thus, the speed that they planed to go = x km/h = 4 km/h

b) 1.5 tsp.

c) 2 tsp.

Step-by-step explanation:

Complete Correct Question

Animals: The label on a bottle of pet vitamins lists dosage guidelines. What dosage would you give to each of these animals? (a) a 18 kg adult dog (b) a 6 kg cat (c) 18 kg pregnant dog

- The dosage listed for adult dog is 1/2 tsp per 9 kg dog weight.

- The dosage listed for adult cat is 1/4 tsp per 1 kg weight.

- The dosage listed for pregnant dog is 1/2 tsp per 4.5 kg dog weight.

Solution

a) 18 kg adult dog

The dosage listed for adult dog is 1/2 tsp per 9 kg dog weight.

9 kg dog weight = (1/2) tsp

18 kg adult dog = (18/9) × (1/2) = 1 teaspoon.

b) 6 kg cat

The dosage listed for adult cat is 1/4 tsp per 1 kg weight.

1 kg cat = (1/4) tsp

6 kg cat = (6/1) × (1/4) = (6/4) = 1.5 teaspoons.

c) 18 kg pregnant dog

The dosage listed for pregnant dog is 1/2 tsp per 4.5 kg dog weight.

4.5 kg dog weight = (1/2) tsp

18 kg pregnant dog = (18/4.5) × (1/2) = 2 teaspoons.

Hope this Helps!!!

I received a letter from your competitor that mentions a savings of 15% over your prices. Can you match this offer? My current r
exis [7]

Given my current rate = $129.00 per month.

Savings of 15% over your prices.

Therefore, saving = 15% of $129.00 = 0.15 × 129.00 =$19.35.

Adjusted rate = current rate - saving = 129 - 19.35 = $109.65

Therefore, We can rewrite above expression as :

My current rate is $129.00<u> </u><u>per month</u>." Representative: "We will match any competitive offer. Your adjusted rate will be <u>109.65 </u>dollars per month."
