Two objects are moving along separate linear paths where each path is described by position, d, and time, t. The variable d is m

easured in meters, and the variable t is measured in seconds. The equation describing the graph of the position of the first object with respect to time is d = 2.5t + 2.2. The graph of the position of the second object is a parallel line passing through (t = 0, d = 1). What is the equation of the second graph?

I am not sure about this but here goes nothing: d=2.5t+2.2 is very familiar to y=mx+b y=d m=2.5 x=t b=2.2 to find a new quasion we substitute d and t into place wich equals 1=2.5(0)+b simplification and you get b=1 so your answer is d=2.5t+1

Answer:

The equation of the second graph is:

                 d=2.5t+1

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the slope of a line parallel to a given line is equal to the slope of that line.

Here the slope of the second line=2.5

(    Since, first line has slope=2.5  )

Also, we know that the equation of a line passing through (a,b) and slope m is given by:

y-b=m(x-a)

Here (a,b)= (0,1) and m=2.5 , y=d and x=t

Hence, the equation of second line is given by:

d-1=2.5(t-0)\\\\\\d-1=2.5t\\\\d=2.5t+1

An electrical engineer has on hand two boxes of resistors, with five resistors in each box. The resistors in the first box are l
Tju [1.3M]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

given that an electrical engineer has on hand two boxes of resistors, with five resistors in each box. The resistors in the first box are labeled 10 ohms, but in fact their resistances are 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 ohms. The resistors in the second box are labeled 20 ohms, but in fact their resistances are 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22 ohms. The EE chooses one resistor from each box and determines the resistance of each

Sample space for selecting one resistor from first box

= {9, 10, 11, 12, 13}

A = {11,12,13} (because >10)

Sample space for selecting one resistor from second box

={18,19,20,21,22}

B={18}

Sample space for sum would be

{27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35}

C = {(9,19) , (10,18)}

A moderately active 140 pound person will use 2100 calories per day to maintain that body weight, how many calories per day are
blondinia [14]

Answer:

2,175 calories

Step-by-step explanation:

140 pound person will use 2100 calories per day

145 pounds person will use x calories per day

Find x

Pounds : calories

140 : 2100 = 145 : x

140/2100 = 145/x

Cross product

140 * x = 2100 * 145

140x = 304,500

Divide both sides by 140

x = 304,500 / 140

= 2,175

Therefore,

145 pounds person will use 2175 calories per day
