What is the medium in which sound travels inside a bird's body?

Bird sounds are made in the syrinx, but of course, the air sacs, passageways and  the bird's lungs, also contribute to the production of sounds.

When birds start to sing, the 2 passageways between the lung and the syrinx, closes. Then, the sir is squeezed into the air sacs by the chest muscles. Squeezing the air sacs that surrounds the syrinx forces each of the two thin membranes in the syrinx into the 2 passageways between the lung and the syrinx. This process does not allow air to travel through.Afterwhich, muscles around the syrinx contract and tighten one membrane and pulls it out into the passageway (1 of the passageway). Air in that passageway can now move, which passes quickly over the membrane. That fast moving air causes a vibration, thus, sound is produced.

If you increase the number of water molecules in the extracellular fluid, will the membrane move to the right or the left in the
Igoryamba

Answer:

The membrane will move to the left in view of the applied pressure.

Explanation:

The scenario described can be perfectly illustrated through understanding the concept of osmosis.

Osmosis can be defined as the movement of particules or molecules in a solvent from a region of lower concentration to a region of higher concentration, through a semi permeable membrane.

To put differently, the movement of water molecules is from a region of lower osmotic pressure to a higher one. And for osmosis to be achieved and water molecules evenly distributed, pressure built must be slow and steady to a state of high or equilibrium.

This often results to movement of membrane to the left as a response to the osmosis phenomenon. Increasing the number of water molecules in the extra cellular fluid will thus accelerate this process, increase the pressure built up, and thus generate ripples from a lower area to a higher one. Osmosis is thus gradual and steady.

Algae in an aquatic food chain convert solar energy into 93,000 kilocalories of plant tissue. Which of the following values best
nevsk [136]

Answer:

The correct answer is - option 1. 930 kilocalories.

Explanation:

In every ecosystem, the energy is passed from one form to another and there is a lot of loss of the energy as heat in the cellular process. There is a transfer of only 10% of each level of the trophic level.

Algae is the producers in this aquatic ecosystem so the primary consumer will get  10% of the energy that is present in plant tissue (93000kcal) which will be 9300 Kcal and second producers will get 10% of this will be 930Kcal.

Thus, the correct answer is option 1. 930 kilocalories.
