A biologist is conducting an experiment to determine how light affects the reproduction of Bacteria X. The biologist is trying t

o decide the best way to conduct his experiment in order to collect meaningful data. Which of the following experiments would help him collect the best data? A.
Place a Petri dish with Bacteria X in a lighted area and a Petri dish with the Bacteria X in a darkened area, and then observe the rate of reproduction over time.

B.
Place a Petri dish with Bacteria X in a lighted area and a Petri dish with Bacteria Y in a darkened area, and then observe the rate of reproduction over time.

C.
Place a Petri dish with Bacteria X in a sunny window and an identical Petri dish under a grow lamp.

D.

I would say (A) because it allows the bacteria (bacteria X) to be exposed to the control condition and the experimental condition so that a cause-effect relationship can be established. Here, the control condition would be the darkened area and the experimental condition would be the lightened area.

netineya [11]

Answer:

43 monosaccharides will be joined together to make the complex carbohydrate.

Explanation:

The complex carbohydrates are synthesized by the joining of monosaccharide residues by glycosidic linkages.One glycosidic linkage joins two monosaccharide residues by the elimination of one molecule of water.

  In other words it can be said that elimination of one water molecule joins two monosaccharides.By the same way elimination of 42 molecules of water will result in the joining of 43 monosaccaride residues.

A rock sample has a mass of 16 grams and a volume of 8 cubic centimeters. When the rock is cut in half, what is the volume and d
spayn [35]

Answer:

Volume= 4 cm³

Density= 2 g/cm³

Explanation:

We have the following data:

volume= V= 8 cm³

mass= m= 16 g

The density is the mass per volume of a substance, so the density of the rock is:

density= d= 16 g/8 cm³= 2 g/cm³

When we cut the rock in half, we have a half volume and a half mass:

V= 8 cm³/2= 4 cm³

m= 16 g/2= 8 g

But the density is not altered because it is an intrisic property - it does not change with the amount of subtance. Thus, the density of a half rock is:

d = m/V= 8 g/4 cm³= 2 g/cm³

Describe the path that energy takes, from solar energy reaching earths surface to energy used to power cell processes in animals
Tresset [83]

Answer:

How energy is produced and managed from solar cells?

Solar energy is created by nuclear fusion that takes place in the sun. Fusion occurs when protons of hydrogen atoms violently collide in the sun's core and fuse to create a helium atom. This process, known as a PP (proton-proton) chain reaction, emits an enormous amount of energy

Explanation:

All based on research.
