The distribution of earthquake across the globe provides the primary indicator of boundaries between all tectonic plates. Earthquakes have a definite distribution pattern. There are three major belts in the world which are frequented by earthquakes of varying intensities and these belts are as under the circus pacific belt, mid Atlantic belt and mid continental belt.

Which statement about electrons and atomic orbitals is NOT true?
balandron [24]

<em>An electron has the same amount of energy in all orbitals  is not true</em>

\boxed{\boxed{\bold{Further~explanation}}}

In an atom there are levels of energy in the skin and sub skin.

  • This energy level is expressed in the form of electron configurations.

Writing electron configurations starts from the lowest to the highest sub-shell energy level.

So electrons that occupy the orbitals in the lowest sub-skin have the lowest energy level

  • In the principle of Pauli's prohibition it was stated that there are no two electrons in one atom that can have the same four quantum numbers.

So suppose that there are two electrons occupying one orbital can have the same main quantum number (n), azimuth (l) and magnetic (m), then the last quantum number that is the quantum spin number (s) must be different.

So that the two electrons are different from just the quantum spin number, even though the other quantum numbers are the same.

So in one orbital only a maximum of 2 electrons is occupied, because if there is a third electron, this third electron will have the same quantum spin number as the previous electron

  • The electron cloud is a visual representation of the location of electrons in an atom.

Orbital is the place around the nucleus where electrons may be found

Electron clouds show the state of electrons in their orbitals

So electron clouds can show the condition of all orbitals in an atom

The lowest energy level of an electron occupies a sub-skin of 1s which has only one orbital

Charging electrons in the sub skin uses the following sequence:

1s², 2s², 2p⁶, 3s², 3p⁶, 4s², 3d¹⁰, 4p⁶, 5s², 4d¹⁰, 5p⁶, 6s², etc.

Statement about electrons and atomic orbitals is not true is An electron has the same amount of energy in all orbitals

A runner runs 4875 ft in 6.85 minutes. what is the runners average speed in miles per hour?
yanalaym [24]

The average speed can be easily calculated by taking the ratio of distance and time. That is:

average speed = distance / time

so calculating:

average speed = 4875 ft / 6.85 minutes

<span>average speed = 711.68 ft / min</span>

Ugo [173]

Answer:

a. 8.33 x 10 ⁻⁶ Pa

b. 8.19 x 10 ⁻¹¹ atm

c. 1.65 x 10 ⁻¹⁰ atm

d. 2.778 x 10 ⁻¹⁴ kg / m²

Explanation:

Given:

a.

I = 2500 W / m² , us = 3.0 x 10 ⁸ m /s

P rad = I / us

P rad  = 2500 W / m² / 3.0 x 10 ⁸ m/s

P rad = 8.33 x 10 ⁻⁶ Pa

b.

P rad = 8.33 x 10 ⁻⁶ Pa *[  9.8 x 10 ⁻⁶ atm / 1 Pa ]

P rad = 8.19 x 10 ⁻¹¹ atm

c.

P rad = 2 * I / us = ( 2 * 2500 w / m²) / [ 3.0 x 10 ⁸ m /s ]

P rad = 1.67 x 10 ⁻⁵ Pa

P₁ = 1.013 x 10 ⁵ Pa /atm

P rad = 1.67 x 10 ⁻⁵ Pa / 1.013 x 10 ⁵ Pa /atm = 1.65 x 10 ⁻¹⁰ atm

d.

P rad  = I / us

ΔP / Δt = I / C² = [ 2500 w / m² ] / ( 3.0 x 10 ⁸ m/s)²

ΔP / Δt = 2.778 x 10 ⁻¹⁴ kg / m²

A steel cable 1.25 in. in diameter and 50 ft long is to lift a 20-ton load without permanently deforming. What is the length of
Over [174]

Answer:

50.0543248872 ft

Explanation:

F = Load = 20 ton = 20\times 2000\ lb

d = Diameter = 1.25 in

L_1 = Initial length = 50 ft

L_2 = Final length

A = Area = \dfrac{\pi}{4}d^2

Y = Young's modulus = 30\times 10^6\ psi

Young's modulus is given by

Y=\dfrac{FL}{A\Delta L}\\\Rightarrow Y=\dfrac{FL_1}{\dfrac{\pi}{4}d^2(L_2-L_1)}\\\Rightarrow L_2=\dfrac{4FL_1}{Y\pi d^2}+L_1\\\Rightarrow L_2=\dfrac{4\times 40000\times 50}{30\times 10^6\times \pi\times 1.25^2}+50\\\Rightarrow L_2=50.0543248872\ ft

The length during the lift is 50.0543248872 ft
