Answer with explanation:

Total amount of money , that Michael can spend on office supplies = $ 234

Cost of one ream of paper= $ 6

Cost of one ink cartridge = $ 18

let number of ream of paper bought = x

And, number of ink cartridge bought = y

Now, the above statements about the problem , which can be written in the form of inequality

6 x + 18 y ≤ 234

6× (x+ 3 y)≤ 6 × 39

→→x + 3 y ≤ 39

Drawing the graph of inequality

x and y will take only positive integral value.

There is no graph in your question. If p is number of reams of paper, and c is number of ink cartridges, then

3p + c = 234, wich p and c natural numbers (including 0)

This means that 13 ink cartridges and 0 paper will satisfy the end amount, but also 0 ink cartridges and 39 paper. There are 14 combinations possible.

A tourist starts to walk up a mountain path that is 31 miles long at the rate of 4 miles per hour. After walking for a while, he
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

He pays to the cab driver for 25 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Let us consider he walks x miles at the rate of 4 miles per hour.

As we know Time=\frac{Distance}{Speed}

Therefore, time taken is: Time=\frac{x}{4}

He get a taxi for (31-x) miles at the rate of 50 miles per hour.

Therefore, time taken is: Time=\frac{31-x}{50}

It took 2 hours after he started.

That means the sum of time take is 2 hours.

\frac{x}{4}+\frac{31-x}{50}=2

\frac{25x+62-2x}{100}= 2

23x+62= 200

23x= 138

x= 6

Hence he walk 6 miles and he get a taxi for 31-6=25 miles.

He pays to the cab driver for 25 miles.

Word problem for (2t+5)-t=26
SCORPION-xisa [38]

For this case we must pose a verbal problem equivalent to the following expression:

(2t + 5) -t = 26

So, we have:

(2t + 5): The sum of double a number plus five.

We propose the expression:

A number subtracted from the sum of double the same number plus five equals twenty-six.

Answer:

A number subtracted from the sum of double the same number plus five equals twenty-six.

The variable complex number z is given by z=1+cos 2θ+isin2θ,where θ takes all values in the interval −1/2π<θ<1/2π
FinnZ [79.3K]
The given complex number is
 z = 1 + cos(2θ) + i sin(2θ), for -1/2π < θ < 1/2π

Part (i)
Let V = the modulus of z.
Then
V² = [1 + cos(2θ)]² + sin²(2θ)
     = 1 + 2 cos(2θ) + cos²2θ + sin²2θ

Because sin²x + cos²x = 1, therefore
V² = 2(1 + cos2θ)

Because cos(2x) = 2 cos²x - 1, therefore
V² = 2(1 + 2cos²θ - 1) = 4 cos²θ
Because  -1/2π < θ < 1/2π,
V = 2 cosθ                          PROVEN

Part ii.
1/z = 1/[1 + cos2θ + i sin 2θ]
\frac{1}{z} = \frac{(1+cos2\theta - i\, sin2\theta)}{(1 + cos 2\theta + i\, sin 2\theta)(1+cos2\theta - i \,sin2\theta)}\\ = \frac{1+cos2\theta - i \,sin 2\theta}{(1+cos2\theta)^{2} + sin^{2}2\theta}

The denominator is
(1+cos2\theta)^{2}+sin^{2}2\theta \\ = 1+2cos2\theta+cos^{2}2\theta+sin^{2}2\theta \\ =2cos2\theta+2 \\ = 2(1+cos2\theta)

Therefore
\frac{1}{z} = \frac{1}{2} -i \frac{sin2\theta}{2(1+cos2\theta)}

The real part of 1/ = 1/  (constant).
