Molecular weight of 1 mole of Argon = 39.948 g
for face-centered cube = x = (√8)r and here r = 191 pm
so, x = √8 x 191 = 540 pm = 540 x 10^-10 cm
density = (39.948g / mol) x (unit cell / 540x10^-10 cm)^3 x (mol / 6.022x10^23 atoms) x (4 atoms / unit cell) = 1.69g/cm^3
so density of solid argon is 1.69g/cm^3

Give a possible explanation for the relative amounts of the isometric methyl nitrobenzoates formed in the nitration reaction. Co
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

The electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction nitration is used to nitrate methyl benzoate and acetanilide with a nitronium ion. Crystallization was used to purify the product. The melting point was used to determine its purity and the regiochemistry of the products.

Explanation:

Methyl m-Nitrobenzoate is formed in this

reaction rather that ortho/para isomers

because of the ester group of your starting

product of methylbenzoate. The functional

group of ester is a electron withdrawing group

causing nitrobenzene (N02) to become in the

meta position. Thus N02 is a deactivating

group causing itself to be a meta director.

Basically you must look at the substituents

that are attached to your starting benzene ring

in order to figure out whether your reaction

with be ortho/para directors or meta

directors. If the substituents are electron

withdrawing groups then you will be left with

meta as your product but if your substituents

are electron donating groups then your

product will be ortho/para.

An archeologist finds a 1.62 kg goblet that she believes to be made of pure gold. She determines that the volume of the goblet i
katovenus [111]
The answer is

The density (D) is quotient of mass (m) and volume (V):
D= \frac{m}{V}
The unit is g/cm³

It is given:
m = 1.62 kg = 1620 g
V = 205 mL = 205 cm³
D = ?

Thus:
D= \frac{m}{V} = \frac{1620g}{205cm ^{3} } = 7.90 g/cm ^{3}

The density of the goblet is 7.90 g/cm³.

kompoz [17]

Answer: The correct answer is Option A.

Explanation:

Standard enthalpy of formation is the change in enthalpy of one mole of a substance present at the standard state that is 1 atm of pressure and 298 K of temperature. The substance is formed from its pure elements under the same conditions.

We are given a chemical compound having chemical formula Ca(NO_3)_2

This compound is formed by the combination of calcium, nitrogen and oxygen elements.

The chemical equation for the formation of Ca(NO_3)_2 from the components in their standard states follows:

Ca+N_2+3O_2\rightarrow Ca(NO_3)_3

Hence, the correct answer is Option A.
