A thin layer of protein, within epithelial tissue, that anchors the epithelium to the extracellular matrix is the basement membrane. It separates the epithelium, mesothelium and the endothelium from the connective tissues underneath. It has two layers namely the basal lamina and the reticular connective tissue. Its main function is to anchor the epithilium to the dermis underneath the skin. It would act as a barrier in order to prevent malignant cells in invading tissues that are found deep within. It also important in the process of angiogenesis or the development of blood vessels where it increases the differentiation of the endothelial cells.

A 100 kg box is initially at rest on a level surface. One 10 N force acts on the box , directed toward the right. A second 10 N
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

The box will not move because balanced forces are acting on it.

Explanation:

According to Newton's first law of motion, an object will remain in its state of rest or motion along a straight line unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

An unbalanced force is an individual force acting on any side of an object which is not balanced by a force of equal magnitude acting in the opposite direction.

From the image, two forces of equal magnitude of 10 N are pulling the 100 kg box in opposite directions. Since the two forces, 10 N each are pulling the object in opposite directions, they are balanced forces. Therefore, the box will not move because balanced forces are acting on it.

20. Explain how health care professionals treat unregulated (or abnormal) cellular growth in the body
goldenfox [79]

Unregulated and uncontrolled cell growth is the most common simple definition of cancer. Because of the many types of cancers and a huge range of possible symptoms, treatments are also very diverse. Type of treatment also depends on cancer stage at diagnosis, and the patient's overall health. Some forms of treatment:

• Chemotherapy-usage of chemicals (medications) that target rapidly uncontrolled dividing cells,

• Hormone therapy

• Immunotherapy-usage of the medications that boost the immune system

• Radiation therapy-usage of radiation to kill the cancer cells

• Surgery

• New approaches such as stem cell therapy or personalized therapy.
