According to data on the state of Iowa, the amount of water used for cooking per household per month is normally distributed, wi

th a standard deviation of 10.4 liters. A survey was carried out to estimate the population mean. With a sample size of 60 households, the mean quantity of water used for cooking was found to be 62.6 liters.
There is a 95% chance that the population mean lies between liters and liters.

There is a 95% chance that the population mean lies between 52.2 liters and 73 liters. This result is obtained by either subtracting the standard deviation from the mean of 62.6 litres or adding it to get the 52.2 or 73 liters.

What is the value of h in the figure below? In this diagram, BAD ~ CBD
(Help ASAP)
masha68 [24]
To get the value of h we use proportionality:
ΔABC is similar to ΔADB and is similar to ΔBDC this is because they are right triangles. This implies that there corresponding sides are equal. Hence:
AD=25-16=9
using Pythagorean theorem:
c^2=a^2+b^2
then:
AB^2=(h^2+9^2)
Also:
(BC)^2=(AB)^2+(AC)^2

=25^2-(h^2+9^2)

Also:
(BC)^2=(BD)^2+(DC)^2
thus
(BC)^2=h^2+16^2
hence combing the values for (BC)^2 we get:
25^2-(h^2+9^2)=h^2+16^2
simplifying we obtain:
625-h^2-81=h^2+256
putting like terms together
625-81-256=h^2+h^2
288=2h^2
thus
h^2=144
hence
h=√144
h=12 units

use Pythagorean Theorem to satisfy...a^2 + b^2 = c^2

200^2 + b^2 = 300^2
b^2 = 300^2 - 200^2
b^2 = 50000 (get square root of each)
b = 223.606 (rounded to the nearest tenth.... = 223.6
