Answer:

19 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Since he worked 1/4 of the days at book store

He didnot work 1/14 days

Let on x days he worked in a restaurant

So. total of fraction must be :

1=\frac{1}{4} +\frac{1}{14}+x

1=\frac{18}{56}+x

1-\frac{18}{56}=x

\frac{38}{56}=x

So, he worked 38/56 of 28 days in a restaurant.

So, no. of days he worked in restaurant = \frac{38}{56}*28

                                                                 = 19 days

Hence  carole did work for 19 days at the restaurant during the 28-day period

Number of days Carole worked at the bookshop = (1/4)×28 = 28÷4 = 7 days
Number of days Carole did not work = (1/14)×28 = 28÷14 = 2 days

Number of days Carole worked at the restaurant = 28 - (7+2) = 19 days
