The melting point of DNA with 50% GC content = 104 °C

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

DNA has a base pair of bonds between adenine and thymine and guanine and cytosine. These bonds are hydrogen bonds.

Three hydrogen bonds between guanine-cytosine and two hydrogen bonds adenine-thymine make denaturation of DNA by heating it requires greater heat energy.

The amount of guanine and cytosine in the DNA molecule (the GC content) is directly proportional to the melting point, the temperature at which DNA is denatured

If we plot between the melting point of DNA (y-axis) and the percentage of the GC content (x-axis) we will get a straight line equation

From the equation of the line (y = 0.5x + 79), with GC content 50%, we enter the GC value as x so we get the DNA melting point as y

y = 0.5.50 + 79

y = 104 °C

We have the equation of the line as follows:
y = 0.5x + 79

We want to calculate the melting point (the y value) of DNA  with 50% gc content (the x value).
The gc content represents the value of x in the equation, so to calculate the melting point (y), we will simply substitute the x with 50 in the equation of the line as follows:
melting point = 0.5(50) + 79 = 25 + 79 = 104 degrees

(Ross 5.15) If X is a normal random variable with parameters µ " 10 and σ 2 " 36, compute (a) PpX ą 5q (b) Pp4 ă X ă 16q (c) PpX
pochemuha

Answer:

(a) 0.7967

(b) 0.6826

(c) 0.3707

(d) 0.9525

(e) 0.1587

Step-by-step explanation:

The random variable <em>X</em> follows a Normal distribution with mean <em>μ</em> = 10 and  variance <em>σ</em>² = 36.

(a)

Compute the value of P (X > 5) as follows:

P(X>5)=P(\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{5-10}{\sqrt{36}})\\=P(Z>-0.833)\\=P(Z

Thus, the value of P (X > 5) is 0.7967.

(b)

Compute the value of P (4 < X < 16) as follows:

P(4

Thus, the value of P (4 < X < 16) is 0.6826.

(c)

Compute the value of P (X < 8) as follows:

P(X

Thus, the value of P (X < 8) is 0.3707.

(d)

Compute the value of P (X < 20) as follows:

P(X

Thus, the value of P (X < 20) is 0.9525.

(e)

Compute the value of P (X > 16) as follows:

P(X>16)=P(\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{16-10}{\sqrt{36}})\\=P(Z>1)\\=1-P(Z

Thus, the value of P (X > 16) is 0.1587.

How do i do this some one please explain
Talja [164]

Well since we already have our unit per mile.

We know that 1 mile = $3.50

And that the tow company towed the car 12 miles.

So we would have to multiply 12 by $3.50

soo..

12 x $3.50 = $42.00

So your answer is D. $42.00

The y - intercept of an equation is the value of y when x is substituted with zero. From the given equation,
y = 25x + 225
Substituting,
y = (25)(0) + 225
y = 225
Thus, the y - intercept of the given equation is 225.
