The words factor and divisor are used in Mathematics and more especially in divisions (mathematical operations). In this way, a divisor is any number that is used to divide another number, for example in 100÷24 = 4.166 the divisor is 24.

Similarly, a factor is a number that divides another; however, a factor divides the big number completely which means there is no remainder; for example, a factor of 100 is 50 as 100÷ 50 = 2. According to this, factor and divisors have a similar but not equal meaning and therefore it is false they have opposite meanings.
