If you are asking for what the tax is then you take x over 140.88 and 7 over 100 and you cross multiply to get 100x and 986.16 then you divide 100x and 986.16 both by 100 so you get x = 9.8616 but sense .0016 are not cents you round that and get $9.86 as your Tax price and the total amount you would end up paying would be 9.86 + 140.88 which is 150.74 so you would end up paying $150.74 all together but the Tax of 7% is 9.86 for this problem Hope this helped

1) Proiectiile catetelor unui triunghi dreptunghic pe ipotenuza au lungimile 9 cm si 25 cm. Aflati lungimea inaltimii din varful
Flauer [41]

Answer:

1) 15cm

2) left projection/h = h/right projection

Step-by-step explanation:

Question:

1) The projections of the legs of a right triangle on the hypotenuse have lengths of 9 cm and 25 cm. Find the length of the height at the top of the right angle.

2) In a right triangle the length of the hypotenuse is 34 cm, and the lengths of the projections of the legs on the hypotenuse are directly proportional to the numbers 0, (6) and 0.75. Calculate the length of the height corresponding to the hypotenuse.

Solution

1) The length of the height of a right angle triangle is also called the altitude.

Since there are no diagrams in the question, I sent a diagram of the right angle as an attachment to the solution.

The projections of the legs are 25cm and 9cm.

Hence, the longer projection length AD = 25cm and the shorter projection length DB = 9cm

In a right triangle, the altitude (height) drawn from the right angle to the hypotenuse divides the hypotenuse into two segments. The length of the altitude is the

geometric mean of these two segments (the two projections) and it's given by:

left projection/h = h/right projection

AD/h = h/DB

25/h = h/9

Cross multiply

h^2 = 25×9

h =√225 = 15cm

The length of the height at the top of the triangle = 15cm

2) Length of hypotenuse = 34

From the question, the lengths of the projections of the legs on the hypotenuse are directly proportional to the numbers 0, (6) and 0.75.

There is an error with the figures because the sum of the length of the projection of the legs should be equal to the hypotenuse but it isn't in this case.

To calculate the length of the height corresponding to the hypotenuse, we would use the same formula above.

left projection/h = h/right projection

To find each leg using question 1 above, each leg of the triangle is the mean proportional between the hypotenuse and the part of the hypotenuse directly below the leg.

Hypotenuse =34cm

Hyp/leg = leg/part

To find leg y, part for leg y = 25cm

34/y = y/25

y^2 = 34×25 = 850

y = √850 = 29.2cm

To find leg x, part for leg x = 9cm

34/y = y/9

y^2 = 34×9 = 306

y = √306 = 17.5cm

A linear regression equation is calculated for a sample of n = 20 pairs of X and Y values.
Nata [24]

Answer: B) 18

Step-by-step explanation:

The degree of freedom for Standard error or df(Residual) is the sample size minus the number of estimated parameters ,.

df= n - p  , where n= sample size , p = number of parameters.

According to the given problem , we have

Sample size : n=20

Number of parameters (x and y ): p= 2

Then, the df value for the standard error of estimate will be :

df= n-p =20-2=18

Thus , the df value for the standard error of estimate is 18 .

Hence, the correct answer is B) 18 .

A study was performed on green sea turtles inhabiting a certain area. Time-depth recorders were deployed on 6 of the 76 capture
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

One can be 99% confident the true mean shell length lies within the above interval.

The population has a relative frequency distribution that is approximately normal.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that Time-depth recorders were deployed on 6 of the 76 captured turtles. These 6 turtles had a mean shell length of 51.3 cm and a standard deviation of 6.6 cm.

The pivotal quantity for a 99% confidence interval for the true mean shell length is given by;

                    P.Q.  =  \frac{\bar X-\mu}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n} } }  ~ t_n_-_1

where, \bar X = sample mean shell length = 51.3 cm

             s = sample standard deviation = 6.6 cm

             n = sample of turtles = 6

             \mu = true mean shell length

Now, the 99% confidence interval for \mu =  \bar X \pm t_(_\frac{\alpha}{2}_)  \times \frac{s}{\sqrt{n} }

Here, \alpha = 1% so  (\frac{\alpha}{2}) = 0.5%. So, the critical value of t at 0.5% significance level and 5 (6-1) degree of freedom is 4.032.

<u>So, 99% confidence interval for</u> \mu  =  51.3 \pm 4.032 \times \frac{6.6}{\sqrt{6} }

                                                         = [51.3 - 10.864 , 51.3 + 10.864]

                                                         = [40.44 cm, 62.16 cm]

The interpretation of the above result is that we are 99% confident that the true mean shell length lie within the above interval of [40.44 cm, 62.16 cm].

The assumption about the distribution of shell lengths must be true in order for the confidence interval, part a, to be valid is that;

C. The population has a relative frequency distribution that is approximately normal.

This assumption is reasonably satisfied as the data comes from the whole 76 turtles and also we don't know about population standard deviation.

Amy has a box containing 6 white, 4 red, and 8 black marbles. She picks a marble randomly. It is red. The second time, she picks
kati45 [8]

Answer: The probability that the fourth marble Amy picks is black =\frac{8}{15}

The probability that in the fifth attempt she will pick a red or a black marble P(R∩B) =\frac{5}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

To find  the probability that in the fifth attempt she will pick a red or a black marble P(R∩B) .

The total marble in beginning=6+4+8=18

After 3 attempts, the total  marbles left=18-3=15

The number of black marbles =8

The probability that the fourth marble Amy picks is black =\frac{8}{15}

As four marble has already picked up, then the total marbles left in the box

=18-4=14

Now, as a red marble is already picked in 1st attempt , the number of red marbles in the box now= 4-1=3

And a black marble is already picked in fourth attempt , the number of black marbles in the box now= 8-1=7

Now P(R∩B)=P(R)+P(B)=\frac{3}{14}+\frac{7}{14}=\frac{10}{14}=\frac{5}{7}
