The answer is Cognitive Dissonance; Self-Perception.

"Cognitive Dissonance theory best explains attitude change while Self-Perception theory best explains attitude formation."

In Cognitive Dissonance Theory, an individual seeks consistency in his beliefs and behaviors. When a conflict happens between the two, there's a need for change. For example, a man who smokes cannot quit smoking even if he knows the bad effects to his health. To reduce the discomfort, he will justify his behavior, convincing himself that to quit smoking will just make him gain weight, which is also a health risk.

On the other hand, the Self-Perception Theory assumes that our actions are self-revealing. We use our behavior to know what we feel. For example, you aren't sure if you really like the new student in your class. But you always greet her and have small talk with her, and even let her borrow some of your books. Your behavior towards your new classmate will make you think that you probably like her.

Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

The next step that Vanessa would have to take is to sign a DoD Statement of Understanding and provide it to her APC.

Explanation:

  • Every single event in the programs run by the Department of Defense of the United States is intelligently planned and capable of carrying out required verification at every single stage of the program.
  • In the given example, the agency program coordinator requires Vanessa to sign and submit with him the statement issued by the Department of Defense before letting Vanessa have her travel card.
  • The submission of the signed statement with the APC thus formulates the last step of the procedure of securing a travel card issued by the DoD.

After 2 hours of a particular shift, 2 defects have already been detected. What is the probability that there will be less than
Nataly [62]

Answer:

The answer is 5/6

Explanation:

This is because, if it takes 2 hours to detect 2 defects, In 24 hours, the total defect to be detected is 24.

The probabilty of less than (Total) of 4 defect =

1 - probability of it been 4 (in an entire shift)

probability of been 4 = no of defect / total defect = 4/24

Therefore,

probability of less than 4 = 1- (4/24) = 5/6

Many people hang up on telemarketers, but others will listen politely to their pitches even if they are not interested in the pr
lorasvet [3.4K]
This is thanks to the foot-in-the-door phenomenon. This phenomenon works by first getting someone to agree or comply with something that is a small and not too tedious task (here, this would be the agreement to stay on the phone and listen to the pitch). Next, once the small task is completed, the person is more likely to agree to a much larger task (here, whatever the telemarketer is selling).
