Your tutor asks you to record the time you spend using IT during the week. You have recorded this time below: Day Time Monday 0.

Let us convert all figures into decimals so that we can compare them easily.

Monday    0.3

Tuesday   15% = 0.15

Wednesday   1/6 = 0.1666

Thursday   0.2

Friday   1/8 = 0.125

Clearly, I spent the least amount of time on Friday using IT and the time is 0.125 or 1/8.

What kind of soup needs milk? I don't know any...

anyway, the amount of the liquid at the end was 2 5/8 and milk was 1 1/3 - we need to substract the amount of milk from the amount of total liquid afterwards:

2 \frac{5}{8} -1 \frac{1}{3}
bring the fraction to the same form:
2 \frac{15}{24} -1 \frac{8}{24}

substracting:

1 \frac{7}{24}}

It costs dylan $x$ dollars to buy $3$ tickets to the zoo. he discovers that if he were to buy $5$ tickets, he would receive a to
jonny [76]

So, if Dylan has x dollars and he bought 3 tickets with them, the tickets were priced at k dollars per ticket. If he bought 5 tickets with the x dollars and saved 12 total dollars, it would be the same as buying the tickets with x-12 dollars, so we have:

\frac{x}{3}=k\\ \frac{x-12}{5}=q

So, with this we have:

x=3k\\ x=5q+12

If we're looking for a number that satisfies these constraints, we can work with modular arithmetic. We have:

x\equiv 0 \pmod{3}\\ x\equiv 12 \pmod{5}

So, we can use the chinese remainder theorem here. So, we clearly have x=3k, which means:

3k\equiv12 \pmod{5} \implies\\ k \equiv 4 \pmod{5} \implies\\ k=5j+4

So, since we have x=3k, we also have x=3(5j+4)=15j+12.

So, clearly j=0 won't work so we should have j=1. That means our money per ticket for the five tickets is:

\frac{27-12}{5}=3

And our money per three tickets is:

\frac{27}{3}=9

This is easily verifiable. Three tickets needs 27 dollars and 5 tickets needs 15 dollars, which is 12 less than 27 dollars. So we have our money per three dollar ticket at 6 more than money per five dollar.

What is the value of x? Enter your answer, as a decimal, in the box. x= A right triangle with vertices labeled as A, B, and C. S
____ [38]

x=3.95

Explanation

From the given information we find that the triangle is right angled at C. CB is the base,AC is the height and AB is the hypotenuse.

Given that D is the hypotenuse of the hypotenuse AB.

BC=6

BD=4.2

AD=x

the height and the base of the triangle is given.

Using pythagoras theorem, we can find the hypotenuse AB.

AB=\sqrt{AC^2+CB^2} \\=\sqrt{5^2+6^2} \\=\sqrt{25+36} \\=\sqrt{61} \\

D is the midpoint of AB

therefore AD=AB/2=\sqrt{61}/2

x=3.905 cm

Which expression is equivalent to the expression below? StartFraction m + 3 Over m squared minus 16 EndFraction divided by Start
Kamila [148]

Option B: \frac{1}{(m-4)(m-3)} is the correct answer.

Explanation:

The given expression is \frac{(\frac{m+3}{m^2-16}) }{(\frac{m^2-9}{m+4} )}

Simplifying the expression, we have,

\frac{m+3}{m^{2}-16}\times\frac{m+4}{m^2-9}

Factor the equations, m^{2}-16\right and m^{2}-9,we get,

m^{2}-16\right=m^{2}-4^{2}=(m+4)(m-4)

m^{2}-9=m^{2}-3^2=(m+3)(m-3)

Substituting these factored expressions in the above expression, we have,

\frac{m+3}{(m+4)(m-4)}\times\frac{m+4}{(m+3)(m-3)}

Cancelling the common terms m+3 and m+4 , we get,

\frac{1}{(m-4)(m-3)}

Thus, the expression equivalent to \frac{(\frac{m+3}{m^2-16}) }{(\frac{m^2-9}{m+4} )} is \frac{1}{(m-4)(m-3)}

Hence, Option B is the correct answer.

polet [3.4K]

Answer:

1/12 of the watermelon in each piece

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. We must divide 1/3 by 4.
  2. 1/3 divided by 4 is also 1/3 x 1/4.

The final answer is 1/12.
