Answer

Find out the total cost for their dinner.

To prove

As given

For dinner, Abelita chooses the Italian salad that costs $3.99 before tax.

Franco chooses the fettuccini alfredo that costs $7.17 before tax.

Total cost of the dinner before tax = $ 3.99 + $7.17

                                                         = $ 11.16

As given

If the sales tax is 5 percent .

5 % is written in the decimal form.

= \frac{5}{100}

= 0.05

5% tax on the dinner cost = 0.05 ×  11.16

                                          = $0.558

Total cost of the dinner = Total cost of the dinner before tax + tax cost

                                      = $11.16 + $0.558

                                     = $ 11.718

                                     = $11.72 (approx)

Therefore the total cost for their dinner is $ 11.72 (approx)

Answer:

Answer is down below

Step-by-step explanation:

The total cost of the dinner is found by adding the two prices together. Then this sum is multiplied by 1.05, which is 100% + 5%, to get a cost of $11.72.

A treasure map says that a treasure is buried so that it partitions the distance between a rock and a tree in a 5:9 ratio. Marin
djyliett [7]

Answer:

A)  (7.6, 8.8)

which are the coordinates of the treasure.

Missing Problem Statement:

Given Options:

A) (11.4, 14.2)

B) (7.6, 8.8)

C) (5.7, 7.5)

D) (10.2, 12.6)

I have added the picture showing the traced map onto a coordinate plane to find exact location of treasure.

The coordinates of Tree are (16,21)

Coordinates of rock are (3,2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

Coordinates of treasure be (a,b)

d_{1}= distance from tree to treasure

d_{2}=distance from rock to treasure

d_{1}=\sqrt{(16-x)^2 + (21-y)^2}

d_{2}=\sqrt{x\2 + (y-2)^2}

Given ratio between rock and tree, \frac{d_{2}}{ d_{1}}=\frac{5}{9}= 0.55_______(Equation.1)

which will be used to locate the treasure.

Now we just need to cross check by putting the coordinates given in the options one by one to find out value of d_{1},d_{2} and checking if it satisfies the Equation 1.

Check (A) (11.4, 14.2)

d_{2}= 14.8, d_{1}= 8.2,

\frac{d_{2}}{ d_{1}}= 1.8

Check (C) (5.7, 7.5)

d_{2}= 6.13, d_{1}= 16.98,

\frac{d_{2}}{ d_{1}}= 0.36

Check (D) (10.2, 12.6)

d_{2}= 12.8, d_{1}= 10.2,

\frac{d_{2}}{ d_{1}}= 1.25

Check (B) (7.6, 8.8)

d_{2}= 8.2, d_{1}= 14.8,

\frac{d_{2}}{ d_{1}}= 0.55

Which satisfies Equation 1, such that ratio between rock and tree is 5:9 or  \frac{d_{2}}{ d_{1}}=\frac{5}{9}= 0.55

So, the coordinates of the treasure are (B) (7.6, 8.8)

The organizers of a fair projected a 25 percent increase in attendance this year over that of last year, but attendance this yea
Gnom [1K]

Answer: 64 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume attendance last year to be equal to "x"

- An increase in percentage sees us add the percentage amount to 100.

- A decrease in percentage sees us subtract the percentage amount from 100.

Projected attendance = ((100+25)/100) * x = 1.25x

Actual attendance = ((100-20)/100) * x = 0.80x

Hence ratio of a actual to projected attendance = 0.80x/1.25x = 0.64

Convert into percentage = 0.64 * 100 = 64 %

arlik [135]

Answer:

         \neg a

b

If  <u>all prime numbers are odd,</u> then <u>2 is  odd</u>.

2 is not odd.

Therefore, it is not the case that all prime numbers are odd.

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering part A

 The  first sentence is

If all computer programs contain errors, then this program contains an error.

   The second sentence is

This program does not contain an error.

     The third  sentence is

Therefore, it is not the case that all computer programs contain errors.

Now we will use  a and  b  as the letter to denote the component sentences and   \neg a  and \neg b when the component sentences is not the case

So  a =  If all computer programs contain errors

and

b =  this program contains an error.

Generally then is represented as \to

Hence the first sentence is denoted as

         a \to b

The  second sentence is represented as

            \neg b

The  third sentence is represented as

           \neg a

So part a can be represented as

      a \to b

         \neg b

         \neg a

Considering part B

Here the objective is to fill in the blank spaces so that the logic of the sentence in part b is as that in part a

Now comparing the second statement  a and  b

"This program does not contain an error" = "2 is not odd" = \neg b

Hence      "this program contains an error." =  "2 is  odd" =  b

Now comparing the third  statement  a and  b

Therefore, it is not the case that all computer programs contain errors.

                                                =

Therefore, it is not the case that all prime numbers are odd

                                                =

                                                \neg a

Hence

If all computer programs contain errors, = if all prime numbers are odd.= a

A projectile is shot into the air following the path, h(t) = -3t2 + 12t - 5. At what time, value of t, will it reach a maximum h
slava [35]

Answer:

You can find the answer by using the formula t=-b/2a

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember the maximum height will be at the vertex. The x value of the vertex is your time, so use x=-b/2a except that t is your x. Then if it had also asked what the height was, you would plug that answer into your equation to find the y value of the vertex. Pretty sure your teacher is just asking you to find the x though:)
