It occurs as a response to unexpected loss of support, in which the infant have the perception of falling. The Moro reflex begins at birth, and usually disappears after 3 or 4 months. The Moro reflex involves three different parts which are; spreading out the arms, unspreading the arms, and crying.

Their movements mostly on the ocean floor. So fin would not help them "stick" to the floor. Also there are still gravity acts on the Eurypterids and the feet would help them move faster.
