A mutation has occurred that has made uvrd non-functional. what result will this have on damaged dna?

The uvrd is an enzyme that unfolds DNA. When damaged DNA is encountered, other enzymes take care of correcting the mistakes. However, these enzymes need the uvrd enzyme to unpackage DNA so that they reach it. If uvrd is non-functional, the damaged DNA will not be repaired.

slavikrds [6]

Answer:

Experimental,Control

Explanation:

  • In an experiment, there are usually two groups that are taken and one is compared to another.
  • One group is the experimental group and the other group is the control group.
  • An experimental group is the one that receives the test sample or undergoes the experimental procedure and thus, the independent variable that is being tested for is changed for this group.
  • A control group is the one that does not undergo any experimental testing and hence, the independent variable is kept constant for this group.
  • Based on the above information it can be concluded that in the given experiment the rats that receiving leptin are the experimental group whereas those that do not receive anything are the control group.

dem82 [27]

Explanation:

During  PCR, we use two primers one is forward primer and the other one is reverse primer they match the  sequence of one one of the two complementary strands of the target DNA, they flank the target region (that the region which we has to be copied). if we add only one primer it copies only one strand of the DNA in multiple copies. Usually we call this as Asymmetric PCR.

Generally Primers are synthetic short stretch of oligonucleotides that are complementary to the target DNA. They act as a foundation for the amplification process of  DNA to form multiple copies
