This logic refers to someone thinking that they should be able to make all decisions regarding their life at age 18 including drinking. Since they can join the military at age 18 without parent consent, they want to be able to make other 'grown up' decisions like purchasing beer.

The logic of 'if I can die for my country I should be able to buy a beer' indicates that if a person is old enough to go into the armed forces then he/she should be old enough as well to buy a beer and also that if one is going to sacrifice oneself for one's country then one should also have the privilege of being able to buy a beer,
