Convert 45 yards of ribbon to feet through proper conversion factor.

   (45 yards)(3 ft / 1 yard) = 135 feet

Divide this number by 5 to determine the number of 5-ft ribbon that customers can purchased.

     n = 135 ft / 5 ft = 27

Then, multiply by $0.80.

    R = (27)($0.80) = $21.6

The profit is equal to $21.6 and $13.50,

     P = $21.6 - $13.50 = $8.1

<em>Answer: $8.1</em>

Which description best compares the graphs of the two functions below?
Pavlova-9 [17]
Some of your pic is cut off so it's difficult to give the exact answer.  But if you plot the points from the table you get that the equation for that set of data is linear and is y = 1/3x -2.  This tells me that the y-intercepts are the same for both equations, so your answer is not the first or the third.  Because the slope of the function A is 3 and for B is 1/3, the line for function A is steeper, the second of your choices above.

Tasya [4]

Answer:

(c) Observational Distribution

(d) Diet Choice

Step-by-step explanation:

Out of 1033 American adults interviewed in July 2018, 5% consider themselves to be vegetarian.

Since the poll observes the diet habit of the respondents, the cited 5% is part of the Observational distribution of whether the respondent is a vegetarian or not (which is the Diet Choice).

If on the other hand, the poll seeks to manipulate the conditions of the study, it would have been an experimental distribution.

A cube shaped packing box like the one shown below is used to pack a stack of Dinner Plates. if the volume of the box is 1,000 c
fgiga [73]
The correct answer is Choice B: 31.4.

If the volume of the cube is 1000, that means that the width of the box would be 10. That would also be the diameter of the largest plate that fits in the box.

Using 10 as the diameter, we can find the circumference, by multiplying it by pi.

C = pi x diameter
C = 3.14 x 10
C = 31.4

In a study conducted in the United Kingdom about sleeping positions, 1000 adults in the UK were asked their starting position wh
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

The 95% confidence interval would be given by (0.380;0.441)

Step-by-step explanation:

In a study conducted in the United Kingdom about sleeping positions, 1000 adults in the UK were asked their starting position when they fall asleep at night. The most common answer was the fetal position (on the side, with legs pulled up), with 41% of the participants saying they start in this position. Use a normal distribution to find and interpret a 95% confidence interval for the proportion of all UK adults who start sleep in this position. Use the fact that the standard error of the estimate is 0.016

1) Notation and definitions

X number of people who answer fetal position

n=1000 random sample taken

\hat p=0.41 estimated proportion of people who answer fetal position

p true population proportion of people who answer fetal position

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The population proportion have the following distribution

p \sim N(p,\sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}})

2) Confidence interval

In order to find the critical value we need to take in count that we are finding the interval for a proportion, so on this case we need to use the z distribution. Since our interval is at 95% of confidence, our significance level would be given by \alpha=1-0.95=0.05 and \alpha/2 =0.025. And the critical value would be given by:

z_{\alpha/2}=-1.96, z_{1-\alpha/2}=1.96

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\hat p \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n}}

If we replace the values obtained we got:

0.41 - 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.41(1-0.41)}{1000}}=0.380

0.41 + 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.41(1-0.41)}{1000}}=0.441

The 95% confidence interval would be given by (0.380;0.441)

A regulation hockey puck must weigh between 5.5 and 6 ounces. The weights X of pucks made by a particular process are normally d
mr_godi [17]

Answer:

P(5.5

And we can find this probability with this difference:

P(-2.27

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X the random variable that represent the weights of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(5.75,0.11)

Where \mu=5.75 and \sigma=0.11

We are interested on this probability

P(5.5

And we can use the z score formula given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(5.5

And we can find this probability with this difference:

P(-2.27
