(03.01 MC)Maria and Edwin have $23.00 each to spend at a book fair, where all students receive a 25% discount. They both want to

purchase a copy of the same book, which normally sells for $26.50 plus 10% sales tax. To check if she has enough to purchase the book, Maria takes 25% of $26.50 and subtracts that amount from the normal price. She takes 10% of the discounted selling price and adds it back to find the purchase amount. Edwin takes 75% of the normal purchase price and then computes 110% of the reduced price. Is Maria correct? Is Edwin correct? Do they have enough money to purchase the book? Explain your answer using complete sentences, and show your work. Also can you show the work too please???

Both Maria and Edwin get the same price on the end.
$26.50*75%/100=$19.875
$19.875*10%/100+$19.875=$21.86
They are purchased copy of the book for $21.86 each.
Theay have $1.14 after purchasing both.

Elden [556K]

Let x = 1.66666... ....(1)

Multiply both sides of equation (1) by 10.

10x = 1.666666.... .... (2)

Multiply both sides of equation (1) by 100.

100x = 16.66666....... (3)

Subtract equation (2) from equation (3)

100x - 10x = 16.66666...- 1.66666...

90x = 15

x= \frac{15}{90}  = \frac{1}{6}

Hence, the required fraction form is \frac{1}{6} .... Answer.

aragraphs are the building blocks of papers. Many students define paragraphs in terms of length: a paragraph is a group of at least five sentences, a paragraph is half a page long, etc. In reality, though, the unity and coherence of ideas among sentences is what constitutes a paragraph. A paragraph is defined as “a group of sentences or a single sentence that forms a unit” (Lunsford and Connors 116). Length and appearance do not determine whether a section in a paper is a paragraph. For instance, in some styles of writing, particularly journalistic styles, a paragraph can be just one sentence long. Ultimately, a paragraph is a sentence or group of sentences that support one main idea. In this handout, we will refer to this as the “controlling idea,” because it controls what happens in the rest of the paragraph.

jack wants to weigh at most 176 pounds before the baseball season begins. he has already lost 15 pounds. he belives he can lose
VikaD [51]
The answer will be 4 weeks. You know the constant is 1.5 lbs per week and you will multiply that by however many weeks it takes to reach 176
197-(1.5x) would be your equation and since he’s already lost 15 pounds you will include that by subtracting 15 from the equation as well 197-(1.5(4))=191
191-15=176
