Sue Jones is insured for bodily injury in the amount of 10/20. She is at fault in an accident in which Albert Smith is injured.

Also injured in the accident is a pedestrian, Sam Dickson. Albert's medical expenses total $12,000, Sam's come to $8,000. How much will the insurance pay?

Solution:

Albert's medical expenses is =  $ 12,000

Sam's come = $ 8,000

Add the amount = 12000 + 8000 = $ 20000

Sue Jones is insured for the amount = 10/20

Now, find the insurance.

(10/20)*(20,000) = 10000

Hence, $10000 pay for the insurance.

Answer:

So total Insurance would be  paid $18,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

10/20 means $10,000 this is maximum coverage for bodily injury liability for each person/ $20,000 is the policy limit.

so

Albert Smith will get $10,000 from the insurance company (the "per occurrence" limit) and Sam Dickson will get $8,000 because there's still an additional $10,000 left over for "policy limit".

So total Insurance would be  paid $18,000.

If PQ and RS intersect to form four right angles which statement is true
Rus_ich [418]
Given that PQ and RS intersect to form four right angles, then they form an angle of 90 degrees, this implies that:
if the meet at point O,
then;
∠POR=∠POS=∠QOS=∠ROQ=90°
Therefore the correct statement is:
PQ is perpendicular to RS
that is to mean:
PQ⊥RS
The answer is C.

Let a and b be real numbers where a=/b=/c=/0 which of the following functions could represent the graph below?
Tresset [83]

Answer: The second option;  y =  (x - a)^2*(x-b)^4

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok, we have that a and b are real numbers different than zero.

In the graph, we can see that the line touches the x-axis in two values. Now, if we would have an equation like:

y = x*(x - a)^3*(x - b)^3

then when x = 0 we would have:

y = 0*(0-a)^3*(0-b)^3 = 0

But in the graph, we can see that when x = 0, the value of y is different than zero, so we can discard options 1 and 3.

So the remaining options are:

y = (x - a)^2*(x-b)^4

y = (x - a)^5*(x - b)

Now, another thing you can see in the graph is that it is always positive.

Particularly the second option allows negative values for y because it has odd powers, then we can also discard this option.

(For example, if x > a and x < b we would have a negative value for y)

Then the only remaining option is y =  (x - a)^2*(x-b)^4
