What comment does updike—through sammy—make on supermarket society?

Social Studies

Updike criticizes the consumer "supermarket" society and takes a cynical stance towards it as he sees all the consumers as sheep which are needed to conform to the "establishments" rule. He is against the objectification of the people and supports individualism but the powers that be want people to to follow their rules. The costumers in the supermarket are not independent, do not think for themselves.

Minchanka [31]

Answer:

Preconventional

Explanation:

PRECONVENTIONAL can be said to the first stage in every moral development because PRECONVENTIONAL morality concerns a child like approach to either right or wrong in which during the preconventional level, children sense of morality is said to be externally controlled reason been that such child or children can tend to often accept and believe the rules of their parents as well as their teachers, and they tend to judge every action based on its consequences or what the outcome of such action will eventually be which is why several college psychology students observed four-year-olds in five prekindergarten classes in which their observations most likely indicated that these children were PRECONVENTIONAL.

Answer:

Feminist Theory is the criticism of symbolic interactionist theories of gender and sexuality this illustrate

Explanation:

In the sociologist studies carried out on the perspective on genders was able to group the relationship between genders and the likely result to actualise. For example, a male person requesting for loan would rather make an emotional appeal to a female loan officer than to a male loan officer.

In the case of Sofiya and Brandon (couples), their decision is based on the feminst theory of equal duty and action. Unfortunately, the work carried out tends to be little for Sofiya than Brandon thereby negating the interactionist theory on gender and sexuality based on feminisim which it tends to promote.

What was the basic aim in a direct democracy?
ANEK [815]

Answer: B. Majority rule.

Majority rule refers to choosing alternatives that have more than fifty percent of votes. This type of decision can only be achieved when there is direct democracy and only two alternatives (when more alternatives are present, it is called plurality). An example of this situation are referenda. In a referendum, people are often given two choices (most commonly, yes and no) on a single question, and they are allowed to vote directly. Most forms of democracy use majority rule along with other decision-making methods.
