A company sells cereal in two different -sized boxes.The smaller box has the dimensions of 12-inch,2-inch and 7 3/4 i.The height

of the smaller box is 80% of the height of the lager box,while the other two dimensions are the same for both boxes.What is the difference in the volumes of the two boxes?

Answer: The answer is 232.5

Step-by-step explanation:First you to set up the proportion. If 80% equals to 12. You Would do 80 over hundred becuase percent is out of hundred (80/100) then you would do 12 over x or any other variable. FROM there on you would to the butter fly method. Cross multiply . ( 80 times variable, 12 times 100) now to isolate the variable you have to do inverse operation. So now do 1200 divided by 80 . And 80 divided by 80. Now you know.

X=15.

But were no done yet lol. Now do length times width times height to get the volume. 15 times 2 times 31/4 (7 3/4) . now we're done. Your welcome

We will take the volume of each box separately to find the difference between them.
 We have then that the volume of the boxes is:
 V = (L) * (W) * (h)
 Where,
 L: long
 W: width
 h: height
 The smaller box:
 V1 = (12) * (2) * (7 3/4)
 V1 = 186 in ^ 3
 the lager box:
 V2 = (12) * (2) * ((7 3/4) * (100/80))
 V2 = 232.5 in ^ 3
 The difference is:
 V2-V1 = 232.5 in ^ 3 - 186 in ^ 3 = 46.5 in ^ 3
 Answer:
 The difference in the volumes of the two boxes is:
 46.5 in ^ 3

For white marbles:
8 = 4 * 2 ( 4 groups with 2 )
8 + 4 = 12

Which is the graph of g(x) = (0.5)x + 3 – 4? On a coordinate plane, an exponential function decreases in quadrant 2 and has a ho
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

The graph will be an exponential function that crosses the y-axis at about (0, -4).

Step-by-step explanation:

g(x) = (0.5)^{x + 3} - 4

That means that when x = 0...

g(0) = (0.5)^{0 + 3} - 4

g(0) = (0.5)^{3} - 4

g(0) = 0.125 - 4

g(0) = -3.875

So, the graph will be an exponential function that crosses the y-axis at about (0, -4).

Hope this helps!

Please help! The following three shapes are based only on squares, semicircles, and quarter circles. Find the perimeter and the
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

perimeter = (18 +9π) cm

area = (81 -20.25π) cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of the shaded area is the circumference of the circle added to two sides of the square. The circumference of the circle is π times the diameter, so the perimeter is ...

p = 2(9 cm) + π(9 cm) = (18 +9π) cm

___

The area of the shaded portion is the difference between the area of the square and the area of the circle. The area of the square is the square of the diameter. The area of the circle is π/4 times that value.

A = (9 cm^2) + (π/4)(9 cm^2) = (81 +20.25π) cm^2

_____

Comment on circle area

The formula you often see is ...

A = πr^2 . . . . r is the radius

since r = d/2, where d is the diameter, this can also be written as ...

A = π(d/2)^2 = (π/4)d^2

Here, the diameter of the circle is the same as the side length of its enclosing square, so the area of the circle is π/4 times the area of the enclosing square.

Street sweeping vehicles can clean 3 miles of streets per hour. A city owns two street sweepers, and each sweeper can be used fo
Vanyuwa [196]
We know that
In a period of 4 hours (3 hours of work and 1 hour to refuel)
each street sweepers clean------> 3 miles*3 =9 miles

divide 18 hours by 4
18/4=4.5
4.5 is equal to 4 periods of 4 hours plus 2 hours

Multiply 4 by 9 miles
4*9=36 miles

in the period of 2 hours (<span>in this period there is no refuel)
</span>3*2=6 miles

each street sweepers clean in 18 hours-----> (36+6)-----> 42 miles
two street sweepers clean in 18 hours=2*42------> 84 miles

the answer is
84 miles
