<span>The correct answer should be “Hally is friendly with Willie and Sam but then demands they call him Master Harold”. </span>

<span>
Let’s keep in mind that the play is set in a racist, post-WWII South Africa, in which ruled the ‘white-only’ policy. Harold “Hally” is a 17-year-old teenage boy who lives with a drunken father, who is a veteran, and a mother who does not have the strength to stand up to her husband. Both his parents are racist, and so he’s been taught. But Hally builds a sort of friendship with the two black servants, Willie and Sam, although this friendship id hidden by the distance that had to be kept between master and servant. </span>

sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

The answer is A

Explanation:

The correct answer is A as this sentence is correctly punctuated and does not have any spelling or grammatical mistake.

The answer B is not correctly punctuated . The word seasons is incorrectly puctuated in the sentence B.

The sentence D has a grammatical mistake. This sentence should not have a comma but the comma should be replaced by preposition 'and'.

While the rest three sentences have incorrect spellings, punctuation or grammar, A answer makes the best choice.

Which excerpt highlights the theme of the fleeting nature of life?
matrenka [14]

Answer: The excerpt highlights the theme of the fleeting nature of life is the one by Andrew Marvell, "To His Coy Mistress."

Explanation: This excerpt from Marvell's famous poem is specifically referring to the ephemeral nature of life, since the speaker is saying that he is constantly hearing the chariot of time - which is fast since it has wings - hurrying near, and eternity is ahead of us waiting for all of us. This poem is, in fact, a call to seize the day (<em>carpe diem</em>) and enjoy the pleasures that life has to offer. The speaker is telling to his coy mistress that if time was unlimited they could wait before courting and loving each other, but it is not, so he is urging her to let him love her.
