Metaphor

As you may know after reading the story, of course the misfit was not buried alive. What this phrase is taken from is a portion of the tale where he is recanting his experience and in an effort to paint a picture of just how horrible his time was in the penitentiary. He uses a metaphor by comparing his time there to being buried alive. One thing to keep in mind as you read and analyze future works of literature is that any time comparisons are being made that are not technically/literally true, it’s a safe bet what you’ll have on your hands is figurative language—a metaphor.

snow_lady [41]
“Our distinct cultures nourish each one of us” - I think that this phrase is the one that best uses persuasion because it makes the readers think. It prompts them to think on how his or her own culture have nourished him or her and others of different culture. It also makes people think of how he or she benefited from other culture as well.

Explanation:

People who have a positive work ethic embody certain principles such as the right attitude and approach towards the job, respect for other people, lively communication, reliability, constant productivity, a self disciplined character and the ability to cooperate with their collegues. Since Kevin has a positive attitude, works constantly and manages to help his collegues after he has finished his tasks, one could easily say that he has strong skills in D. positive work ethic.
