Freedom of Speech is a right that is protected by the First Amendment, but it doesn’t protect all kinds of speech, The Supreme Court of US has decided that the First Amendment doesn’t protect speeches that call for imminent violent upon a person or a group.

The freedom of the press is the basis of democracy, it consists of the liberty of the press to publish materials and the absence of interference by the state.

Nevertheless, in this case, the judge must see the context of the speech. If the newspaper spreads information about members of the gang it might ruin the whole operation and also put the lives of many people in danger. Because of that, the judge will not completely remove the newspaper’s right of freedom of the press, but it will balance with the right of the citizens to be safe and will benefit the public’s safety.

The U.S. Constitution of 1789 empowered Congress to regulate interstate commerce. Which selection below is true for the Articles
const2013 [10]

Answer:

The correct answer is A. The Articles of Confederation did not grant Congress the power to regulate interstate commerce.

Explanation:

The Articles of Confederation were the first government document, or Constitution, of the United States. They were written in the summer of 1776 and taken over by the Second Continental Congress on November 15, 1777, after one year of debate. In practice, they served as the de facto system of government used by Congress until the Articles final ratification on March 1, 1781.

The Articles of Confederation laid down the rules of operation of the United States. The Confederacy could wage war, negotiate diplomatic agreements, deal with the problems of Western territories, spend money and borrow within and outside the States. On the other hand, the impossibility to determine taxes and regulate interstate commerce was a major shortcoming. The second weak point was the principle of one state, one vote. Larger states were expected to contribute more but had only one vote.

Originally, the intention was only a weak central government, which was supposed to rule, especially in an emergency. But the end of the war and the new priorities that emerged clearly showed many of the shortcomings of the Articles. They were replaced by the much stronger Constitution after ratification on June 21, 1788.

Is it desirable to maintain our company’s high quality standards for product development, even if the result is higher prices fo
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

The options actually are:

No; our company’s concern with product quality has allowed competitors to capture market share by offering slightly inferior but less expensive products.

Argument strong / weak

Yes; many employees ignore company procedures designed to ensure that our product quality standards are met.

Argument strong / weak

The first argument is strong

The second argument is weak

Explanation:

The first argument is logical because keeping up with the competitors' low priced products is a genuine source of concern. The quality procedures could still be adhered strictly if the product is perceived as been of very high quality in the eyes of the customers, as the saying goes that the real beauty lies in the eyes of the beholders, meaning that this is something for customers to judge.

The second argument is weak, override of control procedures by some employees is not a tenable excuse not to have the right quality products manufactured, since carrot and stick approach of punishing non-compliant employees and rewarding compliant employees is at their disposal.
