approximately 24% of the customers surveyed have a scone with their tea

From the table we can see that there is a total of 500 customers

24% of 500 = 0.24 * 500 = 120

So in the table (row heading) above 120 we put Scone and to the left (column heading) we enter Tea

approximately 36% of the customers surveyed buy a muffin

36% of 500 = 0.36 * 500 = 180

So in the table , row heading above 120 is Muffin

So row heading is Scone, Muffin and Cookie

Column heading is Coffee and Tea

Credit card A
First 3 months:
4.1% / 360 = 0.011% x 30 = 0.34% per month for the first 3 months.
Next 9 months:
18.5% / 360 = 0.051% x 30 = 1.54% per month for the next 9 months.

Credit card B:
First 3 months
3.7% / 360 = 0.010% x 30 = 0.30% per month for the first 3 months
Next 9 months:
18.9% / 360 = 0.0525% x 30 = 1.575% per month for the next 9 months

Credit Card B is the better deal for the first 3 months.
Credit Card A is the better deal for the next 9 months.

Mikela claims that the sum of any two numbers is greater than the larger of the two numbers. Jim claims that the sum of any two
qaws [65]

ANSWER:

The statement of Jim is correct

SOLUTION:

Given statements are

Mikela claims that sum of any two numbers is greater than the larger of the two numbers.

Jim claims that the sum of any two natural numbers is greater than the larger of the two numbers.

Let a,b be the two numbers and a is the greatest of a and b

According to the mikela statement = a + b > a

b > a – a

b > 0

Here, we got an condition that b > 0, but it may not be true always.

Above condition fails when b is either 0 or negative number.

Jim - sum of any two natural numbers is greater than the larger of the two numbers.

Let a,b be the two natural numbers. And a is the greatest of a and b

According to the jim statement = a + b > a

b > a – a

b > 0

Here, we got an condition that b > 0,

And this statement will always be true because b is an natural number, so it will be greater than 0.

Hence jim’s statement is true.
