Answer:  0.04

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The standard error of the proportion is basically gives the spread of the sample proportions about the population mean.

Given : Sample size : n= 150

No. of females in the sample  : x= 90

Proportion of females = \hat{p}=\dfrac{x}{n}=\dfrac{90}{150}=0.6

Standard error of proportions :

SE=\sqrt{\dfrac{\hat{p}(1-\hat{p})}{n}} , where \hat{p} = sample proportion and n= sample size .

Substitute the corresponding values , we get

SE=\sqrt{\dfrac{0.6(1-0.6)}{150}}

SE=\sqrt{\dfrac{0.6 (0.4)}{150}}

SE=\sqrt{0.0016}=0.04

Hence, the standard error of the proportion is 0.04 .

The standard error is 100% as females cannot be 90% of the population.

1. Drake is Bradley's sister.
2. Cursen is Atley's brother

Drake is a girl (1), but she is not related to Norma(3), So she is Marlene.
1) MARLENE DRAKE

Drake and Bradley are related; Norma is not related to them(3). Norma can either be Atley or Cursen. But, Cursen is Male. So, Norma is NORMA ATLEY

Remaining family names are Bradley and Cursen. Kermit is not a Bradley, so he is KERMIT CURSEN. That leaves LEONARD BRADLEY.

Rounded to the nearest hundredth, what is the positive solution to the quadratic equation 0=2x2+3x-8?
Basile [38]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The given quadratic equation is

2x^2+3x-8 = 0

To find the roots of the equation. We will apply the general formula for quadratic equations

x = -b ± √b^2 - 4ac]/2a

from the equation,

a = 2

b = 3

c = -8

It becomes

x = [- 3 ± √3^2 - 4(2 × -8)]/2×2

x = - 3 ± √9 - 4(- 16)]/2×2

x = [- 3 ± √9 + 64]/2×2

x = [- 3 ± √73]/4

x = [- 3 ± 8.544]/4

x = (-3 + 8.544) /4 or x = (-3 - 8.544) / 4

x = 5.544/4 or - 11.544/4

x = 1.386 or x = - 2.886

The positive solution is 1.39 rounded up to the nearest hundredth

bearhunter [10]

The question is incomplete. Here is the complete question:

Samir is an expert marksman. When he takes aim at a particular target on the shooting range, there is a 0.95 probability that he will hit it. One day, Samir decides to attempt to hit  10 such targets in a row.

Assuming that Samir is equally likely to hit each of the 10 targets, what is the probability that he will miss at least one of them?

Answer:

40.13%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'A' be the event of not missing a target in 10 attempts.

Therefore, the complement of event 'A' is \overline A=\textrm{Missing a target at least once}

Now, Samir is equally likely to hit each of the 10 targets. Therefore, probability of hitting each target each time is same and equal to 0.95.

Now, P(A)=0.95^{10}=0.5987

We know that the sum of probability of an event and its complement is 1.

So, P(A)+P(\overline A)=1\\\\P(\overline A)=1-P(A)\\\\P(\overline A)=1-0.5987\\\\P(\overline A)=0.4013=40.13\%

Therefore, the probability of missing a target at least once in 10 attempts is 40.13%.
