Answer:

MN =29 mm

Step-by-step explanation:

Two circles are there with radius 30 and 10 mm.

Common tangent has length as 21.

We have to find the distance between the centres.

If we draw a line NT parallel to PQ meeting QM at T

then we find that QTNP is a rectangle.

Hence NT=21 mm

NTM would be right triangle right angled at T, having hypotenuse as MN

one side =21 and other side = 30-10 =20

Using Pythagorean theorem,

we get

MN^{2} =21^{2} +20^{2} \\=441+400 =841\\MN =\sqrt{841} \\=29 mm

The picture in the attached figure

step 1
<span>Draw a line PT parallel to MN such that T lies on MQ
</span>see the attached figure N 2
<span>Then
TQ = MQ - NP = 30-10 = 20 mm
TP=MN
</span>
step 2
in the right triangle PTQ
TQ=20 mm
QP=21 mm
TP=?

applying the Pythagoras Theorem
TP²=TQ²+QP²-----> 20²+21²-----> 841
TP=√841------> TP=29 mm
MN=TP----------> MN=29 mm

the answer is
MN=29 mm

Factor the expression given below. Write each factor as a polynomial in
kherson [118]

The factorization of the expression of 43x³ + 216y³ is

(7x + 6y)(49x² - 42xy + 36y²)

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of two cubes has two factors:

1. The first factor is \sqrt[3]{1st} + \sqrt[3]{2nd}

2. The second factor is ( \sqrt[3]{1st} )² - ( \sqrt[3]{1st} ) ( \sqrt[3]{2nd} ) + ( \sqrt[3]{2nd} )²

Ex: The expression a³ + b³ is the sum of 2 cubes

The factorization of a³ + b³ is (a + b)(a² - ab + b²)

∵ The expression is 343x³ + 216y³

∵ \sqrt[3]{343x^{3}} = 7x

∵ \sqrt[3]{216y^{3}} = 6y

∴ The first factor is (7x + 6y)

∵ (7x)² = 49x²

∵ (7x)(6y) = 42xy

∵ (6y)² = 36y²

∴ The second factor is (49x² - 42xy + 36y²)

∴ The factorization of 43x³ + 216y³ is (7x + 6y)(49x² - 42xy + 36y²)

The factorization of the expression of 43x³ + 216y³ is

(7x + 6y)(49x² - 42xy + 36y²)

Why did farmer jones keep the chickens away frome the other animals
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

The farmer jones keep the chickens away frome the other animals because the chickens are using "fowl" language!!!!!

The answer to your math sheet is a play on words, please check the picture attached for the complete solution.

The joke is that 'fowl' is another word for 'chicken' but at the same time is similar to 'foul' which is a bad word!

Simplify square root of (1-sin theta)(1+sin theta)
Vinil7 [7]
Recall the important identities:

i) (a-b)(a+b)= a^{2}- b^{2}, the difference of squares formula.

ii) sin^{2} x+cos^{2}x=1, for any angle x.

Then,

from i)

\sqrt{(1-sin(theta))(1+sin(theta))}= \sqrt{1- sin^{2}(theta) }

then, from ii), we have

\sqrt{1- sin^{2}(theta) }= \sqrt{cos^{2}(theta) }=cos(theta)

Answer: cos(theta)

At a financial services company, the mean percent allocation for bonds in a retirement portfolio is 26.9 percent with a populati
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer: it is a right tailed probability

Step-by-step explanation:

Population proportion = 26.9/100 = 0.269

We are dealing with the fact that the probability that the mean bond percent for the sample will be at least 28. This means that the sample proportion is 0.28 or above. This means that it is greater than the population proportion of 0.269

The hypothesis would be

For null hypothesis

p = 0.269

For alternative hypothesis,

p > 0.269

The inequality sign means that it is right tailed.
