In the absence of clues, it is a judgment call.

Often, the problem statement or answer choices will tell you the desired units.

In general, units are available so that you can express dimensions in 4 or fewer digits with appropriate units. There are a few gaps, but the reason units are what they are is to make expressing everyday values easy to do.

SI units are easy to work with on this score, as the various available prefixes ensure that you can always express a quantity using a number between 1 and 1000. This is generally what you want to do (in the absence of direction otherwise).

For some things, there are customary units that are expected. Vehicle speed is unusally miles (or kilometers) per hour, for example. Land area is usually square feet, acres, or square miles in US units, or square meters, hectares, or square kilometers in SI units.

Generally, too, it is appreciated by your reader if the units you choose are ones they are familiar with. In most applications, you'd choose feet or yards or miles instead of furlongs, for example (unless your audience is familiar with racetrack distances).

Answer:

For larger distances we use larger unit , and for smaller distances we use smaller unit.

⇒For example , if we consider the distance travelled by a person in first four days

10000 unit=10 Kilometer is best way of representation

900 unit= 9 meter is better than representing in kilometer

90 unit= 90 cm is better unit of representation.

⇒Now, If we consider four three dimensional shapes which can hold some substance

8000 unit=8 Kg

800 unit= 800 grams

80 unit=80 grams

So, we can say that for larger measurements we use larger unit and for smaller measurement we use smaller unit.

Create an original rational function that has at least one asymptote (vertical, horizontal, and/or slant) and possibly a removab
harkovskaia [24]
Since f has a vertical at x=2, then the denominator of the rational function contains the term (x-2), Function f has the form. F(x)=g(x) / (x-2) g(x) which is in the numerator must be of the same degree as the denominator since F has a horizontal asymptote. Also g (x) must contain the term (x+5) since f has a zero at x=-5. Hence f(x)=3 (x+5) / (x-2)

WHEN GIVEN A RAW SCORE, EXPLAIN HOW TO USE THE NORMAL CURVE TO COMPARE THAT SCORE TO THE POPULATION. WHAT IS A Z-SCORE?
valina [46]

<span>1. </span>When given a raw score, it must be converted into a z-score (standard score). Raw scores cannot be placed on a normal distribution curve because they do not have the same means and standard deviations, but when it is converted into a z-score, the number of standard deviations above or below the population mean can be measured. The z-scores on the center are average, the scores on the left are lower than average and the scores on the right are higher than average.

<span>2. </span>A z-score is a standard score which can be placed on a normal distribution curve. A z-score indicates the distance of the standard deviations from the mean (center of the curve).

A scale model of a house is 1 ft. long. The actual house is 50 ft long. In the model, the window is 1 1/5 in. high. How many fee
stich3 [128]
First, identify the ratio:
1:50 (1 foot on the model is 50 feet on the house)
to find the actual height of the window multiply 1 1/5 by 50
\frac{6}{5}*\frac{50}{1}=\frac{300}{5}
300/5 simplifies into 60
the height of the real window is 60 feet

A ball is thrown down from a balcony with a vertical velocity (in ft/s) given by
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

–90 < –32t – 10 < –58

Step-by-step explanation:

We want the velocity to be BETWEEN -90 and -58.

Whenever we need a quantity, let it be A, to be between two numbers, p and q (p is less than q), we can write it as:

p < A < q

Similarly, here we need the velocity, -32t-10 to be BETWEEN -90 and - 58 (with -90 being the smaller number). Thus we can write:

–90 < –32t – 10 < –58

This is the correct choice, 2nd choice.
