I have a map where indy and ft. Wayne are 3 centimeters apart. Kokomo and indy are 1.5 cm apart on the map. If i know that indy

and ft. Wayne are really 120 miles apart, how far would indy and kokomo be in real life?

Indy and kokomo will be 60 miles apart in real life.

Explanation

On the map, Indy and ft. Wayne are 3 cm apart and Kokomo and Indy are 1.5 cm apart.

So, the ratio of the distance between Indy and ft. Wayne to the distance between Kokomo and Indy will be: 3: 1.5 = 30:15= 2:1

Now, lets assume that real distance between Indy and ft. Wayne is 2x cm and real distance between Kokomo and Indy is x cm.

Given that, the real distance between Indy and ft. Wayne is 120 miles.

That means....

2x= 120\\ \\ x= \frac{120}{2}=60

So, Indy and kokomo will be 60 miles apart in real life.

A train station has installed a system for determining whether bags contain explosives. It has a 95% chance of correctly identif
astraxan [27]

Answer:

a) P(identified as containing explosives)=P(actually contains explosives and identified as containing explosives)+P(actually not contains explosives and identified as containing explosives)

=(10/(4*106))*0.95+(1-10/(4*106))*0.005 =0.005002363

hence probability that it actually contains explosives given identified as containing explosives)

=(10/(4*106))*0.95/0.005002363=0.000475

b)

let probability of correctly identifying a bag without explosives be a

hence a =0.99999763 ~ 99.999763%

c)

No as even if that becomes 1 ; proportion of true explosives will always be less than half of total explosives detected,

Oliga [24]
HI THERE YO!!!!!!

"Use Pythagorean Theorem to solve (a right triangle with the base being one of the side lengths and the height being the other side length. a^2 + b^2 = c^2
64^2 + 100^2 = length of diagonal ^2
4096 + 10000 = 14096
The length of the diagonal is the square root of 14096 or 118.727 meters (rounded to the thousandths place). "

which is a pair of dependent events? spinning a spinner one time and then spinning it a second time flipping a quarter and then
Sphinxa [80]

Answer and explanation:

Two events are said to be dependent on each other, if the outcome of the first thing affects the outcome of the second thing in such a way that the probability changes.

Here, the right answer will be = removing a marble from a bag, not putting it back, and then removing a second marble.

Explanation:

Lets suppose there were 10 marbles in the bag at the first place. Now, you removed one marble and did not put it back. So, remaining marbles will be 9. Now, if again you choose a marble, you have 9 marbles to choose from. We can see that probability changes with the event that occurred at first place.

So, this is the right answer.

Rest options are simultaneous one. They are not dependent in any way.
