Read the poem. Seacoast silhouette all up and down the dunes, the tall green grasses dance, as the wind plays lively tunes across the sandy expanse. But the moon above is a statue, 5 silent and somber and still, its reflection on the sea is a tattoo, that we watch from upon the hill. How does the metaphor in line 7 affect the poem's meaning?

In the opening sentences of the poem, it talks about how alive and how much the grass and the sand moves. But the moon is still in the sky, and so is its reflection on the sea. It could be talking about how much some things change but there are other ones that don't and are sort of foundations and things to hold on in changing times.

I think the answer is The metaphor conveys the eternal and permanent connection between the moon and the ocean.  I only think, not know.  If I was wrong take pleasure in knowing I got it wrong too ;p
