Let the amount of kidney beans to be added be X kg

Cost of X kg kidney bean = $0.89X

Cost of 40 kg pinto bean = $40×0.69 = $27.60

Total amount of the mixture = (40+X)kg

Cost of mixture per kg = $0.81

Total cost of the mixture =$ (40+X)× 0.81

According to question pinto bean and kidney bean are mixed.

Thus,

27.60+0.89X = (40+X)0.81

Removing the parenthesis

27.60+0.89X = 32.4 + 0.81X

Taking like terems together

32.40 - 27.60 = 0.89X - 0.81X

4.80 = 0.08X

X= 4.80/0.08

X = 60kg

Therefore 60kg of kidney beans to be addes to the mixture

Ian has 12.2 ounce bottle of ketchip. He uses 1/20 of the ketchup every time he has a buffalo burger How many ounces of ketchup
tatiyna
If Ian uses 1/20 of the ketchup 4 times, this is equal to 4/20, or \frac{4}{20}.

\frac{4}{20} can be simplified to \frac{1}{5}, which means we need to work out \frac{1}{5} of 12.2

\frac{1}{5} is equivalent to 20%, which as a decimal is 0.2

0.2 x 12.2 = 2.44 - however, this is how much he has used, and we need to figure out how much is left.

12.2 - 2.44 = 9.76

So, Ian has 9.76 oz remaining :)

A student wants to know how far above the ground the top of a leaning flagpole is. At high noon, when the sun is almost directl
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

15.43 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question, one should use the concept of similar triangles.

The pole's shadow and the distance to the ground (x) form a similar triangle to the distance of the plumb bob from the base and the length of the plumb bob, respectively. Note that we do not need to know the measurements of the third side of the triangles to solve the problem.  Therefore, the distance of the top of the pole to the ground is:

14 in = 1.1667 ft

1.1667x=6*3\\x = 15.43

The distance of the top of the pole to the ground is 15.43 ft.
