Carla was trying to decide what to do Saturday evening. She has $100 available to spend for the evening. She has narrowed her ch

oices down to these events: Braves game, a concert of an artist she likes, or the Georgia Aquarium. Admission to the Braves game is $25, hot dogs cost $10, sodas cost $5. The concert costs $25 for admission, $20 for a souvernir t-shirt, and $10 for a soda. The Georgia Aquarium has the show of a lifetime with an all you can eat and drink that costs $100. Carla does not want to take any driving chances, so in addition to the cost of the aquarium, she will also need to pay for her Uber/Lyft, which is $15 each way. Which option should Carla choose if she wants to spend the least? Based on that choice, what then is Carla's oppotunity cost? Fully explain your answer in at least one paragraph.

Answer:

If Carla wants to choose the least spendable option, she can go with Braves game.

Step-by-step explanation:

Carla has $100 available to spend for the evening.

She has narrowed her choices down to these events:

1. Braves game - Admission to the Braves game is $25, hot dogs cost $10, sodas cost $5. So, total spent will be25+10+5=40 dollars

2. A concert - $25 for admission, $20 for a souvernir t-shirt, and $10 for a soda. So, total spent will be = 25+20+10=55 dollars

3. Georgia Aquarium - Total cost will be = 100+15(2)=130 dollars

Now, we can neglect the third choice as $130 will be spent and Carla does not have that much.

Now comparing the above two options, we can say that if Carla wants to choose the least spendable option, she can go with Braves game.

Carla can still go t the concert but not to the aquarium.

Find the standard form of the equation of the parabola with a focus at (3, 0) and a directrix at x = -3.
Nikitich [7]
Check the picture below.

now, keep in mind that the focus point is at 3,0 and the directrix is to the left-hand-side of it, therefore, is a horizontal parabola, and it opens to the right-hand-side, like in the picture.

keep in mind that the vertex is half-way between the focus point and directrix, at a distance "p" from either one, notice the "p" distance is just 3 units, since the parabola is opening to the right, "p" is positive.

\bf \textit{parabola vertex form with focus point distance}\\\\
\begin{array}{llll}
\boxed{(y-{{ k}})^2=4{{ p}}(x-{{ h}})}
\\\\
(x-{{ h}})^2=4{{ p}}(y-{{ k}})
\end{array}
\qquad
\begin{array}{llll}
vertex\ ({{ h}},{{ k}})\\\\
{{ p}}=\textit{distance from vertex to }\\
\qquad \textit{ focus or directrix}
\end{array}\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
\begin{cases}
h=0\\
k=0\\
p=3
\end{cases}\implies (y-0)^2=4(3)(x-0)\implies y^2=12x\implies \cfrac{1}{12}y^2=x

Susie’s Sweet Shop sells chocolate boxes that contain three types of chocolate truffles: solid chocolate truffles, cream center
olganol [36]

Let us make a list of all the details we have

We are given

The cost of each solid chocolate truffle = s

The cost of each cream centre chocolate truffle = c

The cos to each chocolate truffle with nuts = n

The first type of sweet box that contains 5 each of the three types of chocolate truffle costs $41.25

That is 5s+5c+5n = 41.25 (cost of each type of truffle multiplied by their respective costs and all added together)

The second type of sweet box that contains 10 solid chocolate trufles, 5 cream centre truffles and 10 chocolate truffles with nuts cost $68.75

That is 10s+5c+10n = $68.75

The third type of sweet box that contains 24 truffles evenly divided that is 12 each of solid chocolate truffle and chocolate truffle with nuts cost $66.00

That is 12s+12n=$66.00

Hence option C is the right set of equations that will help us solve the values of each chocolate truffle.

^ Casey was able to map line segment UV onto line segment ST using a translation and a rotation.
yarga [219]

Answer:

A. The correct conclusion is that the segments are congruent and similar.

Step-by-step explanation:

Congruent figures are also similar because when all sides are equal, they are in the same ratio too (i.e 1 : 1)

One fourth of all telephones at the office have built in speaker phones. One -half the phones with the built-in speaker phones h
Helga [31]

Answer:

\frac{1}{8} of the phones in office has both a speaker phone and a conference-call capability

Step-by-step explanation:

Since total number of phones in the office is not given, the answer will be "in that terms".

let it be x

So built in speaker phones is (1/4)x

Hence conference call phones would be (1/2)(1/4x) = (1/8)x

Hence "1/8th of the phones in office has both a speaker phone and a conference-call capability"
